I guess I didn't really pay attention to much after that. We didn't say anything on the way m
back to the manor, although I made note to ask the other their name. Something I'd yet to gather, and or course was the first step of friendship, let alone rather important to know from someone who just saved your ass.

"Andrew."  He'd answered with nothing to follow, his expression staying blank as he stared out of my direction.

I nodded, clasping my hands together. Easily reading the room, I said nothing more. Surely we shared the same guilt.

Once we's reached the manor, I stepped back up to the entrance.

It was hard to keep a solid footing, had I not had Andrew for support, I was sure to fall. I made sure to quickly move away from him once the pounding stopped in my head enough for me to walk back through the large doorway and up the staircase, seeing as his face shone such status of discomfort.

He walked ahead of me, his shoulder briefly bumping into mine as a sort of rude, off-handed gesture. He seemed to be incredibly on edge, with good reason.

"You're injured." He stated, looking ahead and not stopping once to look back. I followed, trying my best to keep myself up right after loosing his support.

He stopped in front of seemingly his room, opening the door and gesturing me to enter.

"I've cleaned wounds before, i'll h-help you.." I noticed the pain in the fake smile he tried to retain, he obviously hated the idea of acting so happy when he knew he wasn't.

"Really?"

"Thank you..!" I grinned, patting him on the shoulder and walking inside his room.

He stopped briefly, grabbing a rag and wetting it in the sink of the small bathroom each room possessed. He looked awfully ungrateful to let his guard down so much but he seemed to have the slightest bit of kindness in his heart to be willing to help me so much.

He urged me to sit on his bed, to which i complied. I let him help as he had suggested with no protest despite the amount of pain the wound caused. He lifted the blood-soaked area of my shirt to be able to see what he was doing. Getting a little flustered for a moment at the idea of actually being so gentle with one person. It seemed to be a very new thing to him.

I winced as he used the small towel against the cut.

He immediately apologized several times, holding his hands back into his lap and looking away all nervous.

"No- It's okay..I'm alright I promise."

The pale man rose himself again, nodding a little in response to my assurance. He gentle cleaned the blood from the surrounding area, looking up once in a while to make sure it wasn't making things worse.

"I-i don't think you'll need s-stitches, although Mrs.Dyer may have bandages." He said, averting his eyes from me again and putting the handkerchief on the bedside table.

"Ah- Thank you, Andrew. You've been a great help."

"I don't need your damn gratitude, now."

"Not getting yourself in danger next time would be enough."

I smiled, I know what he said was meant to be an insult but I could tell he didn't mean it.
