Reunite: (verb) Come together or cause to come together again after a period of separation or disunity.
Hello reader. You join me again today as we follow the seemingly never ending story of unfortunate events.
As we last left off Owen had just left Amelia because she admitted she was expecting a baby that was not his but in fact a nameless man she met once on a trip.
Let's start today's installment shall we? I think we are all itching to find out what happens today.
"Amy. It's gonna be okay." Derek said as he sat with Amelia on the couch.
"He hates me. I cant raise a baby by myself. And I don't know who this baby's father is." Amelia sighed in disappointment.
"You have me and Mer and all our friends. You aren't completely alone." Derek reassured Amelia.
"I don't know what to do." Amelia said as she began to cry.
The dream house doorbell rang and Derek along with Amelia got up to see who could possibly be at the door at this hour.
The door opened to reveal a mysterious man in a white shirt with the sleeves cuffed. His dark black pants were pressed and his leather shoes shined the reflection of the porch light.
"Can I help you?" Derek asked in a confused tone.
"Atticus. Atticus Lincoln. I was told that-." Link said as his mouth fell open.
"Atticus?" Amelia said in a surprised tone as she emerged from behind Derek.
"I was told Amelia Shepherd lived here. So you're exactly who I was looking for." Link gave Amelia a warm smile.
"I was?" Amelia asked flustered.
"Can we speak outside?" Link asked in a calm and collected manner.
"Uh sure. I'll be back Derek." Amelia agreed as she wiped her eyes and shut the door.
"Do you mind if I ask why you were crying Amelia?" Link said carefully so as to not frighten her away.
"I'm pregnant and it's not my boyfriends and he left me and I'm a train wreck." Amelia said avoiding eye contact with Link.
"You-you're pregnant?" Link asked all of a sudden his heart racing.
"Yep." Amelia's voice broke as she willed herself to not cry again.
"Wait how how far along are you?" Link asked.
"Why do you care?" Amelia scoffed at him.
"Because you're the woman I slept with New York City." Link stated.
"Oh god." Amelia said as she finally looked at Link. He was right. She had slept with him when she had gone to New York.
That could only mean that the baby she was carrying- was his.
"So that's my baby." Link gestured to her still flat stomach.
"I guess, yeah it is." Amelia said trying to comprehend everything.
"Wow. Well for the record I'm sorry I destroyed your relationship." Link apologized.
"It's okay. We were I don't know what we were before the baby so. But it's nice to see you again I guess. You know with clothes on and talking." Amelia smiled shyly.
"You too. If you don't mind I'd like to get to know you. Baby and all." Link laughed quietly.
"I'd like that too. We can go inside." Amelia offered.
Now reader. Normally we are all taught stranger danger but I am one to believe that in this situation as Link is the father of this baby, stranger danger goes out of the window.
So sorry. I did it again. You must start interrupting me. When I do that. Back to Amelia and Link as they reunite.
Amelia and Link sat at the table with the dim lights of the kitchen. Tea cups in their hands, steam coming off the liquid.
"You're very lovely Amelia. I'm sorry I didn't catch much about you when we happened." Link said kindly.
"I didn't even ask your name. I just kissed you and one thing led to another." Amelia chuckled in an embarrassed tone.
"It's not a big deal. I would have done the same thing." Link chuckled softly.
"So how do we want to do this?" Amelia asked after silence.
"I want to be in the baby's life. And yours if you'll let me." Link said earnestly.
"Not immediately but yeah. I'd like to get to know you." Amelia said.
Well reader I leave you here today. Join me again to see how this story continues to unfold.
