Secret Society- A secret society is a club or an organization whose activities, events, inner functioning, or membership are concealed. The society may or may not attempt to conceal its existence.
My dear favorite readers. So glad you join me again today. Today's installment is by far the most sinister of all the installments.
Lies, deception, truths and torture. Agony and suffering is all that plagues this chapter. If you wish to continue on I say why?
Nonetheless let's continue on, today's installment brings us back to Seattle, odd that we've been in a location for this long but I'm following the story just as you are- I just happen to be the narrator.
Amelia's small body heaved over the toilet in her bathroom. Owen her husband was still sound asleep in the room next to her.
Owen was in total blindness that Amelia was pregnant or that more importantly, the baby wasn't his. Amelia was racked with guilt. How could she have done that?
"Mia?" Owen's thick voice came through the door. Amelia gagged once more unable to answer him. Yes this was partly morning sickness but Amelia's anxiety about telling him was making her sick.
"I'm okay O. Go go back to bed." Amelia heaved, barely able to form full sentences.
Owen slid the bathroom door open and knelt down beside Amelia. Owen rubbed her back in soothing circles as Amelia continued to throw up.
"You don't have to do this." Amelia sighed leaning back into him. Amelia appreciated it but didn't want him to, it would make telling him harder.
Amelia knew he would be so overjoyed, he's wanted a family with her for so long. But this wasn't his baby. There was no way, because believe me reader. Amelia did the math, over and over.
"No it's okay. I'm sorry you feel so bad." Owen kissed her sweaty temple. Owen pushed a piece of hair behind her ear.
"I'm okay now, I think I'm done." Amelia said slowly standing herself up, careful of her balance to make sure she didn't fall over.
The guilt was eating Amelia from the inside out. She knew she had to tell him but she knew he would be so devastated. A knock on the door came and Owen walked towards it.
"Can I help you?" Owen asked in a confused tone of the person standing in front of him.
"Is this the residence of the Orwell's?" A young girl with bright red hair that was full of curls and life asked.
"Um no. I think you have the wrong house." Owen said looking at the young girl.
"How? It says right here, I had to write it down." The young girl said flipping open a heavy brown book, covered in dust. The opening page had the address written.
"That's our address but no one by the name of Orwell lives here." Owen said staring and analyzing the young girl's features.
She had the bright curly hair, electric blue eyes and pale skin. She stood at maybe 5"5 or a little shorter. She wore a flowing white shirt and jean jacket. With odd black combat boots. Certainly not dressed for Seattle weather.
"Who is that babe?" Amelia asked weakly walking towards the door. When Amelia became in the line of view of the young girl, you could see the lightbulb go off in her mind.
"Amelia Shepherd. Not an Orwell but exactly the kind of person I needed." The young girl smiled brightly at Amelia.
"Do I know you?" Amelia asked. Amelia had never seen this child before. Let alone understand what she could know her for.
"No. But I know exactly who you are. This is for you." The young red head smiled sweetly handing Amelia the big brown book. She had torn the address page out.
"Should I thank you?" Amelia asked. Why was this young girl at her home, and giving her random things and calling her the wrong name?
"No. I don't need the thanks. Just message me when you finish reading it." The red head said in a calm tone. She walked down the path and got into a black Tahoe before driving away.
"What book is that?" Owen asked turning his head to look at it.
"Nothing. I have to get ready." Amelia quickly said. She walked briskly into the bathroom, closed the lid of the toilet and sat. She tore the covering of the book, made out of a brown paper bag off it.
Big, gold letters faced her. The Incomplete History Of Secret Organizations.
Amelia flipped through the pages frantically. Amelia had no idea on Earth why this odd girl would show up to her house with this.
"When you figure out what you need, you'll know. Enjoy the journey and message me when you're ready. - Betsy Mullins"
Well dear reader, I leave you with that. Thank you for joining me today.
