Y/n's POV

We exchanged numbers with Luna and Ryu and made plans to hangout tomorrow.

Until then, Killua and I headed back to our hotel for the night.

It was only 6pm, but we just wanted to do nothing the remainder of the day.

We had just sat on the couch and put on the disastrous life of Saiki K.

"Hey, Y/n?" Killua spoke, breaking the silence.

"Hm?" I shifted my gaze from the TV to him.

"Earlier, when Luna was getting mugged," Killua began, rubbing the back of his neck. "Did you really not wanna help her?"

I was taken aback by his question, and I was hesitant to reply.

"I just didn't wanna get involved in something if it really was more than that I guess," I shrugged. "I dunno, I'm used to just keeping to myself."

"Huh," Killua replied. "So if someone was in danger and you could help you wouldn't?"

"I don't know what they did to get in that situation." I replied, staring at the TV. "Someone coming after me could be bad."

"But you can handle things like that easily!" Killua snapped, getting angry. "You'd just watch someone get hurt?!"

"No!" I retorted. "I'm just saying, I could have people come after me!"

"I make sure the people I kill don't have strong ties to dangerous people so I don't end up like my parents," I elaborated.

"So if I'm in that situation, I have no knowledge on the person in danger and worst case scenario, I could end up getting captured for killed." I exhaled.

"You see where I'm coming from?" I asked. "My parents died for that mistake."

"Your parents were killed for someone they killed for a job, that's a whole different situation that they were dumb enough to put theirselves in!" Killua yelled.

His words stabbed me in the heart and really got to me.

I guess that's how he perceives what I've done with my life, it's all dumb.

My parents died, because they were dumb.

I exhaled and tried to stop the tears forming in my eyes.

"Y-Y/n.. I'm sorry I didn't mean it-" Killua spoke as I grabbed my backpack and prepared to leave.

"Just stop." I told him, grabbing the handle to the door.

I slammed it shut behind me, and Killua opened it running after me.

"Y/n!" Killua shouted as I walked to the elevator. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean it I swear!"

He followed me and I pressed the button to call the elevator.

"Please-" I choked as I let my tears fall, not facing him. "Just leave me alone right now."

We paused for a second, he didn't want me to go.

"I'll be fine," I coughed. "Let me come back when I've calmed down."

"I don't wanna do something dumb if you really didn't mean it." I still didn't face him. "I'll be back later."

I stepped in the elevator as soon as the doors opened, and he didn't follow in after me.
