"Where were you yesterday?" 

She asked while looking at him with sharp eyes, if looks could kill he would be buried six feet under right now.

"I had so much work yesterday that's why I left early and went home late. I'm so sorry love." 

He coaxed still looking at her with a pout on his face.

"You should've at least texted me."

She sighed, defeated.

"I know, I'm sorry."

He hugged her from the side as he rested his chin on her shoulder.

"Don't do it again love, I thought you already left me."

She stated, it almost came out as a whisper. She looked over to him, sadness evident on her face and voice.

"I won't, promise."

Cody snuggled to her neck and his hug on her waist tightened as if he's holding her to not go away.

She softly combed his hair while they both kept silent.

"Go to our room now, you looked so tired. I'll just follow later after I clean here."

Jianna ruffled his hair but he refused to let go making her frown.

He looks like a kid who's been scolded and wants to do good things so his mother won't be mad anymore.

"I'll just stay here and help you with the dishes."

He reasoned out and left a peck on her lips before standing up and started cleaning the table.
