The closer he was to the kitchen the clearer the voice become. By the time he reached the bottom of the stairs he knew he will not only have to deal with both of his parents but all of his other sisters including...Crystal Gem? Was that her? He quickly galloped to the kitchen almost smashing into the bathroom doors which opened suddenly (although considering the fact that it was Rose Petal who opened them perhaps this was a pure coincidence) and just when he was about to enter the kitchen a figure emerged standing in the doorway. Fire Spark quickly tried to stop, but because the floor was slippy it only made matters worse. He smashed into the mysterious pony making them curse under their nose.
'Watch where you're going you...Fire Spark? What's with the hurry,' Crystal Gem smiled and quickly closed him in big warm hug. 'Are you trying to knock me out or something?' she said with a spark of friendly banter in her eyes.
'That wimp? He couldn't even knock out a fly,' Rose Petal started to laugh to her own joke, but one deadly look from Crystal Gem made her stop immediately.
She shook her shoulders and quickly went to the kitchen, choosing a diver's route leading thought the living room. Crystal Gem smiled to herself and give Fire Spark a wink, she was about to turn around when suddenly something got her attention. She kneeled over at run her hoof across Fire Spark's face.
'Is that a face powder?' she asked intrigued.
At first Fire Spark didn't not what to say. He quickly tried to come up with a story that would explain the presence of bronzer and blush on his face. He didn't have to however, because Crystal Gem quickly nodded her head and said:
'I really admire you for having the willingness to work with it. I didn't have that much patience, especially after I learned how much time you have to spend on this thing. And maybe I should because this,' she pointed on her face, 'it doesn't look to good without it, to be honest, but oh well,' she shook her shoulders, 'there's no way I'll spend that much time on something that stallions hardly even notice. You on the other hoof, look perfectly with as well as without it', she ruffled his mane. 'Come on dinner's almost ready,' she moved aside to let him in.
'I think you look astonishing even without the makeup and if other ponies can't see it, they must be blind,' he said quietly but very securely as he passed her by.
'Thanks,' she replied smiling.
'Finally, you're here,' they heard their father's voice as soon as they entered the kitchen. 'What took you so long, the dinner has probably gone cold by now'.
Fire Spark exchanged surprised look with Crystal Gem. Their sisters where already sitting at the table, but none of them even had any dishes yet. They looked over at the electric cooker where their mum was finishing preparing the meal. The hot steam was floating above it. It looked very far from being cold. However, they quickly took their sits at the table. Unfortunately, Fire Spark was sitting right next to his dad – Shinning Spectre. But what did Crystal Gem told him: 'Stallions hardly ever noticed her wearing makeup'. Well, his dad was busy reading newspaper, so perhaps with a bit of luck he won't even notice and his mum... When it come to her, she always appeared to be drifting somewhere where nopony could (or wanted to) go, she hardly even cared about what was going on with the others.
