Fire Spark

Chapter 3

As soon as Fire Spark stepped outside, he felt the cold, night air. The entire land was covered in darkness and the only light was coming from the street lamps placed evenly across the pavement and smartphone screens of ponies who decided to stay out despite the late hours. In front of them a couple of hoof steps away was waiting a rather relaxed looking earth pony. She had headphones in one of her ears and was shaking her head to the beat that only she was able to hear. She had a green hoodie with yellow stripes and a hood which she decided to put on. Because of it, it was hard to figure out her exact age or any facial details for that matter, but since Crystal Gem said she was her friend she probably must have been same age as her. But then again, she didn't have to.

'Hey, thanks for coming over,' Crystal Gem approached the mysterious pony and did a quick hoof shake with her.

'No prob,' she put down her hood allowing Fire Spark to examine her closer.

However, she seemed to look rather normal (no offence Nightlight Aurora). There wasn't anything in particular that would get his attention and her age...well, she did happen to be same age as his sister after all.

'You've said it was an emergency, so I try to come as soon as possible,' she pointed at something standing behind her.

Fire Spark tried to look a bit harder and to his surprise he noticed a medium-size carriage. Since it was dark it was hard to figure the colour of it, but if he would have to guess he would say it was dark-grey and was very far from being called new. He could see some parts of it were damaged, some were missing and there were multiple cuts and scratches. Nevertheless, it was enough to get Fire Spark excited. He could remember the last time he would travel in a carriage with his sister. Usually, it was Solar Glow or Rose Petal he had to travel with, which wasn't exciting at all. This time however, it's going to be totally different. He just hoped he wouldn't have to pull it and the two older ponies would instead let him ride it.

'Is that thing yours?' he asked in amazement.

'Oh, you mean this bad boy?' she pointed on the carriage. 'Totally, I've even given him a name – Stefan, it means Crown in...some language I can't remember which one right now to be honest, quite cool right?' she made a cheeky smile.

Fire Spark nodded his head. Calling your carriage was rather weird, but who was he to say it? He approached Nightlight Aurora and just when he was about a hoof reach away from her, he noticed she was trying really hard to hide a smile that appeared on her face.

'You're just messing with me!' he gave her a friendly punch.

'Sorry, I just had to,' she whipped away the tears. 'So, I imagine you are the "emergency"?'.

'Ye, we had to...evacuate from our "house",' Crystal Gem used her hoofs to make a quotation mark. 'You don't mind him crashing at our place for a while?'.
