After discussing things with Kenma, and explaining where you came from, he suddenly became quiet.

You couldn't blame him. If someone had told you that you were just a fictional character and everything about your life was all made up, you'd probably have an existential crisis.

Which you were probably experiencing either way.

You still weren't sure if all of this is real, or if you were finally locked up in an asylum somewhere, being delusional.

Stopping infront of your house, you turned to each other awkwardly, not really sure how to say goodbye after all that has happened.

"So...I guess I'll see you tomorrow?"

You asked, fumbling with your fingers. A nervous habit you've come to adapt ever since you became a teen.
Kenma nodded slightly but as you turned to enter your home, he said something barely above a whisper which you somehow managed to hear.

"Take care..."

Before closing the door, you gave him one last smile and made sure to properly lock it.

Badump badump badump!

Your heart was thumping against your chest. Something about the way he said those words gave you butterflies. But then again, maybe it was just the simp in you.

A loud thud could be heard from upstairs along with quick footsteps from Kenji and Haru, as they made their way down the living room, almost falling down the stairs while elbowing each other.
You haven't even finished taking off your school shoes, Kenji had already pulled you into a hug.

"Where were you?! I thought I told you to wait for us? We all agreed to always go home with each oth--"

"Was that your boyfriend?" Haru butted in, completely ignoring his twins glare.

Your eyes almost popped out of their sockets because of his assumption, but you weren't really sure if you should tell them the lie Kenma told others.

'I think it's okay, they're barely around anyway'

Rolling your eyes, you shook your head and pushed past the two of them to head over to your room.
"No guys, Kenma is just a friend, and he was kind enough to walk home with me"

Coming back to the question, how did Kenma know where you live?

"Have you guys met Kenma before, by any chance?"

You asked while searching for comfortable clothes and occasionally giving  them a side glace to show that you're listening.

"I used to tutor him in the English subject. I usually just invite him here since I'm too lazy to walk over to his house. But that was back when I was a second year."
Haru explained as he stood by the door, casually tapping on his phone.

"You tutored Kenma?"
Disbelief was heard in the tone of your voice causing the long haired male to look up from his device.

"Yeah, why do you sound so surprised?"

"Well I thought you were the lazy student type who often gets into fights, kind of like a delinquent"

"What makes you say that?" Kenji asked, trying not to let out a snicker.
"Well, he always has a glare on his face. He looks like a depressed dog all the time and it doesn't seem like he has that many friends--"

You blurted out without much thought and immediately regretted it when Haru glared at you and pulled you into a head lock.

"Ow ow--"

"Why you little brat, how dare you insult your older brother--"

"What, wait--I was just--"

"HAHAHAHAHA"
Kenji's laugh resonated within the room which made you and Haru halt from your bantering.

"What's so funny?" Haru hissed, but his twin merely just chuckled.
"She isn't lying tho. You really are lazy. Pfft--A lazy man child who actually has smarts"

Haru's left eyebrow twitched at the comment and let go of your head.
"Whatever, I hate you both"

He grumbled before exiting the room.

"No you don't!" Kenji yelled, laughing when a loud 'shut up" and a slam of a door was heard.

You picked up the fallen pieces of clean clothes on the ground and sat down on your bed, shaking your head with a small smile.
It was nice having older brothers for a change. It was much better than being alone all the time.

Your mind wandered to your current problem. You knew that this wasn't your actual family and that you don't belong in this world. But it just felt so right.
Akane was a sweet girl. Very much different and more over protective than your old friends in the real world.
Heck, everyone in this world was like a better version of the people in your life.

Then there's Kenma who you felt a connection with. You're not sure if he felt the same way about you but you were sure that you couldn't just leave him after crashing into his world that you weren't supposed to even exist in.

And it made you feel afraid.
You were scared that when you get too attached to this kind of life, you won't be able to let go.

"You good?"

Kenji spoke, eyeing you with concern. You nodded with a smile and replied.

"Yeah, just...tired"
