"wake up" I heard someone. also, this someone was pushing me. now I'm angry.

" ugh!! what do you want?? I'm sleeping ." I shouted angrily still on the bed.
" wake up. you haven't eaten dinner yet... it's 10." said a guy in a husky voice,
" so what?... I'm not hungry. let me SLEEP!" I shouted and got up from the bed, now sitting upright but, my eyes were still closed.
" BUT I AM HUNGRY!! MAKE ME SOMETHING!" the voice shouted
" make Maggi," I said as I went back to sleep
" there's no Maggi. I don't know how to make anything else.... just make something for now.. please" the voice begged

"ugh!!" I said as I got up from my bed and walked towards the kitchen.

" didn't Aditi teach you how to cook?" I asked sarcastically
" no. in fact she made me whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted." he answered
" well then mister... GET UP AND START HELPING ME!! because I am not Aditi. if you want to eat, you should learn to cook." I stated and he walked into the kitchen  " put the cheese slices on the bread and please don't tell me you don't know how to do that. " I commanded.

he gave me an' I can do that don't underestimate me' look and started putting cheese on the bread and I started cutting some vegetables.
" what are you making?" he asked after 4 minutes of silence
" nothing. I am just cutting vegetables for tomorrow... we are eating cheese sandwiches right now... you must've eaten something before coming back and I'm not that hungry," I explained and he nodded.
" so... I wanted to talk to you," he said
" about?" I raised my eyebrow because I knew what he was going to say
" what you did yesterday. " he said and looked down refusing to look me in the eyes
" I warned you earlier and you didn't listen. I don't think I did anything wrong." I said bluntly
" no-no... I know it wasn't wrong. i-i mean what you did ... i-i I just wanted to say-"
I cut him by lifting his face with my hands to look me in the eyes " don't you dare say sorry right now because I don't want it. just don't piss me off again " I said seriously as our eyes stayed locked.
he gulped and said " no. not sorry. I wanted to say thank you "

that sentence definitely shocked me and I burrowed my brows...

" thank you for reminding me. I am getting married to you and not her, I have to accept that. thank you " he said seriously and I lost all my seriousness as his words struck my heart and broke it again.

I turned around so that he couldn't see my face and started making sandwiches " right. this is only a forced marriage. I'll keep reminding you " I said quietly.

" tell me when the sandwiches are ready... I'll fill the glasses."
" fill mine with wine. 2nd drawer from the top."
" but..."
"I need it. besides, you are not hungry. you only wanted to say that. it's fine if you go and sleep. I'll eat and come back. " I said, looked at him, and gave him a fake smile.

he shook his head " you are right... I only wanted to talk to you. I have a holiday tomorrow so, I want to drink too.... if you don't mind?" and he gave me puppy dog eyes.
" it looks weird... don't try it with that face. I'll let you drink if you never do that again," I said teasingly.

he put a hand on his heart and said "ouch" and I started to laugh.

we sat at the dining table as we ate and drank together.
" you know... I was really terrified when you had pinned me to the wall... I thought that you were going to kiss me." he started laughing as he finished.
" yes, I could see the fear in your eyes but I never thought you had such a dirty mind," I teased him
" what will you think if a handsome man comes over and pins you to the wall?" he asked
" well... I would think of ways to get out of there..." I gave him the most obvious answer.
" what if I tried to kiss you then?" he asked curiously
" But you already did... I don't mind it though," I teased him further
" yes but that was for show and I didn't know you were angry when you charged at me. I thought you were drunk and... I would have to comply you know.. because of your rules," he said and I started laughing.
"I am not going to do anything to you... you are like my rare wine - to be kept safe till the time to use it comes." I was still laughing.

although that time will never come

" so... how was your engagement night?? I never got to ask it before," he said
" it was very informational and mind-opening " I replied
" you have a way with words..."
" if I didn't, how could I even write good stories?"
" and you're very self-confident " he commented
" well... I learnt that it was no use doubting yourself the hard way. "I said and there was a peaceful silence between us for about 10 minutes until he decided to speak again...
" don't you want to know??" he asked
" what?" I asked, back
" why we were here yesterday..." he said
" Trust me I want to but, I'm restricting myself," I told him the truth
"I came earlier and she came afterward... she asked for some sugar since hers was over so, I went into the kitchen to get her some and she followed me. there we talked and she ended up kissing me. to be honest, I didn't want to. I myself don't know why but, I just didn't want to and then when you came in, I was relieved!! I can't believe it... I was glad you came and stopped us. but then, I felt guilty as if I did something wrong. the guilt was the reason I couldn't say anything that day...
I said thank you for reminding me that we're getting married right *hick* " and he started laughing " no, I wanted to say thank you because you stopped her. I didn't want it. the *hick* reason *hick* I broke up *hick* with her *hick* was because *hick* I didn't *hick* didn't *hick* love *hick* her" he finished. immediately, his face hit the table, and I could hear him snoring...

" Sohi... you are drunk. get up, let's go to bed," I said and picked him up, his hands on my shoulders, and carried him to the bed. I dropped him and put a shawl over him.

he can't like me just because he doesn't love Aditi because I'm going to end this marriage before it starts...

I'm not going to have hope.
