meeting mom

my head was hung low and I was staring at the table below as it got wet by the small drops of salty water flowing through my eyes... 

sohit stopped patting my back, moved my chair so that I could face him but, I couldn't look at him so, I kept my head hung low and stared at my feet. 

he slowly moved his hand to my chin and picked my head up so that I would look directly look at him. but, I was very scared... I couldn't muster up the courage to look at his face or expression so, I closed my eyes as tears kept flowing. 

suddenly, I felt something warm touch my lips. I immediately opened my eyes as I saw sohit kiss me. at first, I was too shocked to react but, I soon kissed him back. it was a passionate kiss that told me to shut up... I could feel him... he was hungry... hungry for me.

we pulled back after a few minutes for air. I stared at him as our eyes locked with each other. while breathing heavily, he touched our foreheads and said "I want to remember you too... shall I?" 

I knew what he meant and at that moment, I forgot about everything else... all I could think about was him... I wanted to touch him... I wanted him... I wanted to remember.

so, I kissed him back and this time, it was a very deep, passionate, and long kiss. as well as a long afternoon.

it was 3:30 and we were currently bickering. why? because my Maggi got cold and I had to remake it... above that, I hadn't eaten anything since the morning. 
" at least heat it for me.."
" I'm tired "
" I'm also tired "
"I have to go to the lab tomorrow"
" Even I have an office "
"I have important tests to analyze "
"I still have 5 proposals to review..."
" let's just order "
" We ate outside yesterday..."
" Are you making food?" " no" " neither am I... in short, we order." 
" what about my Maggi? it got cold..."
" throw it "
" what? no... heat it " 
" I'm tired Pari... just throw it... please " 

and I would've continued if a phone call hadn't interrupted me. 

my phone was ringing and when I checked the caller ID, I sweat dropped... I completely forgot about her...

I picked the phone " hello?" I asked, 
" where the hell have you been??" 

it was my mom... We had to discuss my marriage arrangements today... it's in about 2 months but, I completely forgot about it. well actually not only me, sohit also forgot but who's gonna blame him?

" Mumma... actually we got stuck up in something... shall we come right now?" 
" come immediately. you are just like your dad, never on time..." 
" yes ok sorry... we'll be there in about -" " 15 minutes... I want you here in 15 minutes." 
" ok... bye I have to get ready..." " bye. come quickly... " 

I cut the phone and ran inside to my room and started deciding on clothes to wear.
" What happened ?" sohit asked walking towards the room 
" marriage arrangements... today's appointment at 3 ... we have to go right now," I said as I hurriedly changed. 

" what are you doing?? we have to reach there in about 10 minutes...change now!!" I shouted while doing makeup as I saw sohit only staring at his cupboard.

"I don't know what to wear... this is the first time I'll be 'meeting' meeting your mom... " he said nervously.
" just wear your white shirt and jeans... she doesn't care about clothing anyways... " I said still applying makeup... 

God! I have to cover up so many things...

" and done..." he said after 5  minutes...
he was really ready and I was still doing makeup...

" you are going to make us late... do it quickly " he shouted from outside, probably wearing shoes...
" you gave me too many hickeys..." I complained.
" keep your hair open " he suggested, 
" she hates my hair kept open." I deadpanned. 

we reached the place in about 30 minutes and there, I saw my mom standing restlessly...

" thank god you came today... I thought you wouldn't come," she said sarcastically 
" I'm really sorry Mumma but we were really stuck in something very important..."
" it was really important aunty" Sohit helped 
" oh... well then it might be really important... that's fine " 

' typical son-in-law is always right Indian mentality '

" so... we have arrangements to check right?" 
" oh yes... that's the reason I came here... "

and here starts my torture day...

really not 1 day can go away happily in my life. I have to suffer at least once a day. it's like an unwritten law... 

God, save me!

by the time we had finished, it was already 7 and we hadn't eaten... my food routine is really haywire right... why? because I miss important meetings with my mom... she hates it when I'm late... 

" where are going now? " I asked mom and she gave me angry look...

' right I have to act like an obedient child in front of sohit... I keep forgetting ' ( she doesn't forget, she just wants to annoy her mom more...)

" What I meant is... should we give you a ride back? " I said quickly, just to avoid her wrath.
" do you mind if I stay the night with you? I met Pari after such a long time... I just want to spend some more time with her..." 

and I was going to say no but, sohit had to open his foul mouth. he sweetly told her " of course aunty... I bet Pari wants to catch up with you too..." 

I want to cut his dirty tongue right now...

" thank you... we do have lots to catch up on right Pari?" my mom said happily,

great! now she's happy... how the hell am I gonna say no?

" yes," I said and gave her a fake smile... 

" how much time are you gonna stay here?" I asked as we reached our home...
" about 2 months..." 

what the hell does she mean by 2 months? 

please let this be a joke...

" really Mumma?" I asked and you could guess by my tone that I was pretty annoyed...
she started laughing as if what I said was really funny " I scared you didn't I? I'm staying for about 2 weeks," 

2 weeks!!! that's still too long...

well, I did survive 18 years with her... might as well live for 2 weeks... that is if she doesn't have a problem with me living the way I am. 

torture weeks start...
