We sit across each other, my obsidian marble coffee table between us. She shifts her gaze between me and the furniture around us, while fiddling her fingers.
"Nice place you got here," Nayeon says as she caresses my velvet sofa. The audacity of this bitch. "Seems like a totally different place from the rest of the building," she adds.
I cross my arms, as well as my legs. "Of course, I designed everything."
She just responds by nodding as she continues to scan my handiwork.
"Meaning I own everything here," I add. Welcome to my domain, Nayeon.
"Well, not anymore," she exclaims with a sigh as she slouches.
"What?"
"Well, I'm also living here. That means I get to move my stuff here, too."
Judging from her tacky clothes and childish choice of luggage, it seems that she didn't bring much with her. "Oh, and where's your...stuff?"
Nayeon moves her things toward her and pats them. "Here."
Relieved, I chuckle while biting the tip of my thumb. "Good. Then all of you will perfectly fit there," I say, pointing to her room. You don't get to defile the nest I took years to build.
Her eyes widen at me. "So, I'm supposed to live here like a prisoner?!" Oh, the look on her face is priceless. Like the payoff on prank videos.
"Well, yeah," I say with a tune as I shrug. "Almost everything here belongs to me."
She glares at me, and her cheeks turn a healthy shade of red. Without saying anything, she storms off to her room. That's right Nayeon, you don't come into my castle with your hideous sensibilities and expect me to hand it over to you.

"Jeongyeon-ah, you're gonna show up, right?"
"And be talked down upon again? No."
Seo Yeon-unnie's exasperation can be felt from my phone as she lets out a very long sigh.
"You're overreacting, yeodongsaeng."
Not this again. "Am I? Remember when I invited all of you to my first exhibit? Or Seungyeon's birthday?"
"Jeongyeon-ah! She's our unnie," she raises her voice a bit. It still surprises me when she asserts her dominance-heading a company really changes a person, huh?
"Can't we celebrate separately, just the two of us? I'll even treat you," I'm throwing weak excuses at this point.
She chuckles. "With what? Did you sell a painting?" Ouch. I know she means no offense, but practicality basically runs in our family. That's why I'm in this mess in the first place. "Sorry, you know what I mean."
"It's okay, times have really been rough," I say with a curt laugh. She gets a free pass because she's just like me: someone who went against our parents' wishes and proved them wrong. Well, at least Seo Yeon-unnie did. I'm still working on it.
"You know that they just want the best for you, Jeongie," she says. "I mean, they don't want their daughter struggl-"
"-Seo Yeon-unnie, you're starting to sound like our eldest." I have heard this sermon countless times, and I don't want it coming out of her mouth. So ironic. Up until her promotion, my parents didn't even acknowledge her success. There must be something about being the youngest CEO in her corporation's history that turned them on. "Finally, we can brag about you," I imagine them saying.
After a few silent seconds, she speaks up: "Anyway, I want to celebrate with my whole family. That includes you."
Just like that, my phone buzzes. A five-million won deposit from her.
"Ugh, I hate you unnie. Thanks," I make sure my groan's obvious to her.
She cackles before hanging up.
