I knew it-group studies are a huge scam. The whole thing's just a cover-up to get wasted, while pretending to stick our noses into modules. Apart from that, Seulgi still managed to tag along. Doesn't this girl have to work at the hospital?
"Jeongyeon-ah, why aren't you drinking?" Momo asks, slurry.
"You guys go ahead, I'm just gonna get some fresh air. After all, we're in the mountains." Besides, I really came here to study, unlike these fools.
"Come on, I've never been part of your drinking group before," Sang-Min*, another intern, says. Despite his average everything, I think Momo has a huge crush on him. I guess it's time to stir this ship and get them off my back. (A/N: made-up character)
"Okay, but only if we play truth or dare," I say, giving Momo a smirk.
Seulgi claps excitedly. "I loooovvve playing that! Given that we're here, it's perfect for dark deeds and secrets," she beams, glancing at me with her notoriously seductive eyes. The fuck?
Momo, after seeing how determined everyone suddenly is, retracts. She knows that I'll commit to the bit, that I won't flake. She should know, we're both Scorpios, after all. "No thanks. What are you, kids?"
The group gets into a squabble, and I use the opportunity to head out.

Okay, this is the third time that my calls won't connect-we really must be secluded. I wonder how Nayeon is doing right now: she's probably eating something way better than the junk we're having right now. I wish we could share this view-the dark mountain range amplifying the stars in the sky-together. How long has it even been since we shared an intimate moment together? No books. No fights and awkward silences. Just the two of us, like how it was before. I'm sorry jagiya, I hope you can still bear with me. I promise I'll make it up to you-just you wait.
"There you are." Two arms suddenly wrap around me. It's Seulgi, who seems to have had too much to drink already. Before I could remove her hold, she nestles herself onto my back.
"What are you doing?!"
"Aww come on, Jeongie...it's cold out here," she says in her annoying voice, trying to be cute. I forcibly remove her arms, to which she just chuckles at before leaning against the railing as well.
"Anyway, why so serious?" Seulgi massages her cheeks, putting on a more serious face. "You miss your girlfriend already?"
"Yeah," I say, taking a sip off the beer I smuggled out.
"Are you serious? It's just been a day since we left!"
"I know. But it feels like we've been distant for a while. Every good thing happening to us gets overshadowed by some other shit," I say with a sigh. I don't know why I'm sharing this but, apart from Nayeon, Seulgi is the one I can share my problems with.
"Getting tired of it?" Seulgi rubs my back. I forgot how soft her touch is, compared to Nayeon's. I just tilt my head in response.
"Honestly, when I found out you're dating, I couldn't believe it," Seulgi exclaims.
"Why not?"
"I just don't see you as the settling type," she answers, this time tucking my hair behind my ear. I know I should flinch, but I don't. As a matter of fact, my cheeks heat up. Seulgi inches closer to my ear, softly breathing; the alcohol in her breath mixes with the citrusy scent of her perfume. I should just back away but, still I don't.
"Seulgi...what are you doing?" I ask, my mouth being the last threshold of reason.
"Hey!" Her mood shifts as she looks down the terrace. "Come with me," she orders as she tugs me by the wrist.

"I can't remember the last time I've been here," Seulgi says, eyeing the interior of my car. She holds the stick shift, circling her finger at the handle.
"Remember the crazy positions we did here?" Her words drown as I zone in on the stick shift-where Nayeon held my hand for the first time saying that I changed for the better.
I did, didn't I? I mean, I never thought I'd patch things with my family and be back at med school. All the good things I have right now...Nayeon's at the center of it all. So, why am I here with Seulgi?
"Seulgi," I interrupt her. "I'm sorry."
She suddenly sits still. "Huh? What for?"
"For everything-for all the times you felt like I just used you."
Seulgi scoffs. "What? Where's this coming from?"
"I know what you're trying to do right now, what you think of me. Maybe I'm partly to blame for this. But believe me-I'm not the same person I was."
"Right. Jeongyeon-ah, this is just your guilt speaking. Trust me, what Nayeon-ssi won't know won't hurt her," Seulgi insists.
I shake my head, and place my hand over hers, just like Nayeon did with me. "See? That's something the old me would say. You're a good person, and it's breaking my heart to see you, my best friend, become something you're not."
Seulgi swats my hand, tears streaming down her face. "Fuck you. You know that?"
"I'm sorry. I just want you to find someone who wouldn't put you through what I did." That's all I can say.
"I'm not like this," she says repeatedly, before breaking into uncontrollable sobbing. I hesitate, but eventually manage to give her a comforting hug.
Seulgi, I'm really sorry. It's only Nayeon for me.
