The next day at school the list was dropped for the tournament sign up. Dean had each of them sign up they had to stay on top and each could hold their own in a game and as long as one of them wins it leaves them all on top of you were to place things as in a deck of card Dean would be the king of spades Nicole is the Ace since she's got the same strength in games as Dean Kurt is the Jack and his sister Kia is the Queen though she knows her place is under Dean and Nicole she respects that.
They all signed up for the tournament and Grey walked between them and put his name down to and so did his group of gamblers. "Hmm this will be interesting look at that I hope get to go against my friend Dean" he looked over at him. Dean growled and grey smiled and walked away after rubbing Nicole's hair. "I'll see you later beautiful" her eyes widened a little.
Dean was getting slightly fed up with Grey's attempt on Nicole and he planned to confront Grey about it. During lunch he told Grey to meet him after school his place he wanted to have a couple words with him. Grey smiled and told him that he would come and meet up with him at his place since he couldn't say it there.
Nicole told Dean not to hurt him. "Why not do you like him" she looked away. "Maybe a little bit I also have feelings for someone else as well". This made Dean upset he wanted to know who the other person was now. She told him not to worry she was more focused on the game then her love life. She smiled at him and he felt at ease.
In Nicole's mind she was thinking of how she'd love one person and let the other down which is why she hadn't said anything to either of the people she liked cause she was worried. The day seemed so long and dragged out as they slumped from class to class and Dean heard a screen and a gunshot as a student was shot after loosing a gamble. "Another little fucker dead". He thought as he walked past people playing cards couples making out and people planning hits.
This was the everyday life of these students and they all knew this was gonna continue into their adulthood. If anyone made it outside the walls of this community they'd never be welcomed back and maybe shamed in the world beyond their gang violence and the way their school runs if the world knew. So if someone does make it out they hide the truth and who they are. Deans parents weren't very open about the other world outside of their norms but Dean's little brother took a big interest in it.
His parents didn't like this though but that wasn't very unusual not many parents let their kids think about the other world Dean learned that as a child to and now he believed his little brother would learn that too. Dean looked out a window over the city full of death and despair and betrayal but there was trust out there among leaders and friends. Dean knew that his friends were loyal and wouldn't betray him they had always been that way he remembered the day he met his friends Nicole he met her first as children.
He closed his eyes and remembered the day years ago on that warm summer day when his father had his first meeting with hers to make an alliance with each other. They were 5 years old and as their parents talked they were sitting on a carpet playing with his toys and they laughed together and he remembered what he said to the young girl back then. "I like you your a lovely little girl I gonna marry you one day" he remembered her smile. "No silly we not get married we friends forever" Was how Nicole responded to him.
As children they laughed at the thought but there were gonna be leaders and their parents may want them to marry and if so Dean couldn't wait for it but neither could Grey. After school Dean went to the roof to meet Grey for the talk they needed to have. Grey was waiting for him leaning on the wall "why's we meet here there's other places".
"Not where people won't see us Grey you know no one comes up here after school anymore" deal said as he walked over and leaned on the wall next to him. "It's about Nicole isn't it" Grey looked at him. "You know it is moron I'm not having any luck and she likes you and someone else how is this shit gonna work out if she doesn't like me too I mean we can't keep up the act forever". Dean sighed and heard the sound of a lighter flicking and a cigarette lighting as Grey smoked.
"You shouldn't smoke so much" Dean looked at him and Grey smiled and blew smoke. "It's cute when you worry for me I lobe seeing this side of you rather then you pretending to hate me all day and give me such a cold shoulder". Dean looked away "oh shut up I look out for you for my reasons you know that". Dean was flustered by him.
Grey dropped the cigarette and stepped on it and turned deans head to look at him and leaned in. "You talk a lot of shit Dean, your lucky I never make you back it up cause I don't wanna beat your ass in the wrong way". Dean got red and warm and grey smiled and pulled Dean close and kissed his lips deeply and held him in the embrace. And slid his hand down deans chest and started unbuckling his belt with some lustful intentions.
