Jellyfish Aren't Good

*About a week or so later*

All morning Mimi and Serena have been out searching for seaweed and jellyfish to make some kind of lotion.

I didn't go with them, because of school. It has started back up again. As much as I would like to stay home, mum is making me go. All because we are taking a trip to the marine park for the new marine biology elective.

"Do I have to go?" I groan while mum walks into the grotto.

"Of course Melody. What kind of a mum would I be if I didn't make you unhappy some of the time?" she asks as we walk into the grotto.

"A fun one," I mumble.

"Well I don't think I should be a fun mum should I?" she asks as Mimi and Serena's voices sound from the grotto.

"I say you should be," I play with my moon ring that she gave me.

"I say that for the rest of the day, I'm the principal and not your mum," she grabs something and puts it in her purse.

"You can't just stop being my mum. You can't get rid of me that easily," I argue.

She rolls her eyes at me and says, "Looks like you girls have been busy."

"We made skin lotion," Serena says.

"It's a northern mermaid recipe," Mimi says.

"I'm going to be outside all morning at the marine park, maybe I should try some," she says.

"Why are you going to the marine park?" Serena asks.

I flop down next to her and say, "Because there's some new program opening up at the school, and the marine park is sponsoring it."

"Actually, the school's starting a new course to teach kids about the ocean," Mum says as she rubs the lotion on her hands.

"Any chance you could teach them to stay out of the ocean?" Ondina asks. I giggle a bit and throw a pillow at her.

"This is lovely. Well done girls, clean up while I'm gone?" she says, "Try some Melody."

"No thanks. I'll stick to my lotion up stairs," I say.

"The kind that has water in it?" Serena asks.

"That's the one!" I stand up.

"Why use a lotion that has water in it?" Mimi asks.

"Because I smell good afterwards," I grin and follow my mum out of the grotto and toward the garage where her car is parked.

"Okay, listening up everyone?" Mum says in her 'teachers voice,' "I need you all to remember that you are representing the school today. So I need you all on your best behavior. I'm looking at you Cam."

Cam snaps out of his gaze and asks, "What? I didn't do anything."

"That's exactly why," I nudge him, while still holding hands with Zac.

"It's early," Mum smirks, "Come on everyone."

We follow my mum into the marine park with me and Zac chatting loudly the whole way.

Evie explains how the interview is going to work, and I watch the dolphins.

"Melody, why don't you get on the dolphin?" David asks.

"As much as I would like to, no thanks," I say.

"Zac?" he asks. Zac shakes his head.

"You guys have no imagination," he says as we stop to watch one of the dolphins.
