I stared out of the taxi, enjoying the sight of the familiar neighborhood in the semi-dark surroundings with the street lights lightning up the road and side paths. The trees, houses, nothing changed in one week while I’ve been gone. I almost laughed at myself at the stupid thought. Of course nothing would change in a week. Jeez.

I was visiting my grandmother in Florida during school break to get away from my everyday problems and I had fun, especially with annoying the shit out of her dog Missy. She’s a cute white mini puddle and she hates people whistling, she wouldn’t sto barfing and jumping like she was hyperactive, but that didn’t stop me from doing music with my own mouth. Not a chance. My Gran tried to stop me a few times but gave up after she realized I’m not going to quit.

You see, I was born a provocateur; I’ve always loved to annoy people just to, kind of, please my own self. I remember when I was a kid; my brother for the first time bought himself a new pack of Yu-Gi-Oh cards, you know, when they were still popular. And I couldn’t help myself but hide his few hours old pack. He was looking for it for weeks before I finally told him that I hid it in his bathroom under the sink. He was so mad he broke my old phone. Not that I complained, I got a new one instead.

My mom grounded him for a year or so. I can’t even imagine being grounded for a year and I never intend to experience it. My mom’s really strict about grounding. Funny, I never got grounded in my life, but seeing it from my brother… Yeah she’s strict and pain in the ass.

I paid the taxi driver and got out of the car. The driver helped me get my suitcase and brought it to the door for me.

“Thanks.” I said before entering the front door dragging the suitcase behind me.

“Honey? I thought you were coming tomorrow.” My mom walked out of the kitchen with a surprised but pleased look spread onto her face. “Yeah, but Missy got tired of me so I kinda had to pack and go.” I joked making my mom chuckle. “Oh that puddle, she’s no use. I don’t know why she still insists on having it.” She sighed.

“Yeah me neither.” I said smiling and pointed towards my suitcase. “Will you wash my clothes or do I have to do it alone?” I asked her sweetly as she eyes me carefully but then grinned widely. “Go upstairs and take a rest. I’ll do it.” I returned the grin and run up the stairs yelling back thanks.

I threw myself onto my bed and took a quick glance at the clock beside my bed before closing my eyes wanting to finally go to sleep. Then I suddenly heard some hardcore house music coming from our backyard. What the heck. I stood up and walked out on my balcony just to face the fact that the music wasn’t coming from our backyard but our neighbors. Only someone from tht house was capable of having a party on Saturday evening.

“Dammit Christian.” I hissed at nobody and turned on my heels to walk back in my room. I closed the door and headed downstairs but stopped at my brother’s room to say hey.

I had this feeling in my gut and it was right, he was not in his room. Another feeling was telling me he was at the party next door. What a traitor.

“Mom!” I yelled out as I was walking down the stairs. “Where is Jay?”  I asked her suspiciously crossing my arms “ At the next door’s party.” She said like it’s no big deal and I sighed-my sixth sense was right. “You do know he’s most probably drinking alcohol as we speak. He’s 16.” I pointed out but she just shrugged not looking away from her book. “He’s the same age as you were when you first started going out drinking, he should know his limits too. Plus he knows that if I catch him drunk he’s in big trouble.” I shook my head in disbelief “I can’t believe this.” I breathed out in frustration.

“If it bugs you that much that he’s out there partying while you’re not then walk over and party. It’s not like you have to ask me for permission. You’re 18.” She looked up this time and winked at me.

“What are you… you know what just forget about it. I’m bringing him home.” I said and started walking towards the front door. “Sure, sure. Just be home before 2”

I stopped and turned around to give her a what the fuck look. Was she kidding me? She always thought of herself as a cool mom, which she actually somehow is, but she also can exaggerate sometimes. “And say hi to my future son-in-law if you see him.” She added before I got the chance to speak. My parents, along with Christians, always had this idea of getting me and Christian together. Too bad they won’t succeed. We had a few good moments in our past. But that’s not important anymore, he’s annoying peace of shit and I hate him. I also hate it when they start talking bullshit about the chances of me and him.

I rolled my eyes before walking out of the house slamming the door behind me. With quick but long steps I strolled towards the Moss’s house and knocked. The door opened and I got the chance to face Christian’s gorgeous face with a beer in his hand. Gosh he really looked hot with those blue jeans and white t-shirt that clung onto his well built body. He leaned his shoulder against the door frame.

“Well well, look who we got here. I don’t remember inviting you babe.” He said smirking. Gosh as soon as he opens his mouth I just get this desire of ripping his face off.  “Fuck off dick face, I’m here to get my brother.” I said and tried to pass him by pushing him slightly a side but failed.

“And where do you think you’re going babe.” he took a step towards me just after he put his beer bottle on the table beside the front door.

“Back of Christian, I told you, I’m here to get my brother. My mom’s getting worried.” Okay I lied, but so what.  I tried moving forward but got stopped by him as he moved with me. “Could you move already?” I was getting frustrated but he said nothing but just stared down at me with this stupid smirk playing on his lips.

“Say please.” He suddenly spoke. “Excuse me?” I said looking confused. “Say please and I’ll let you through.” He must be kidding me. “Are you fucking with me Christian? Move!” I said sternly gain trying to break through, but no avail.

He chuckled, his chest visibly vibrated and a smirk spread onto his face.

“No babe, I’m not, but I’d love to again someday.”
