"Faster, faster!" I screamed as my Uncle Jaden swung me around him, my legs lifted high off the ground.

"Faster?" he mocked playfully. "You might fly away if I let go!"

"Don't let go!" I squealed, the rush of air swirling around us threatening to seperate our hands.

"I'd never let you go, princess. You're staying with us here forever," he laughed, slowing down, and placing my feet back on the earth.

We always played in the backyard because we lived in the countryside, so we had a beautiful meadow to enjoy all day. Uncle Jaden told me it was good for me to be out in the sun because of my fair skin, but I'd only burn.

Aunt Charlaine also told me it was good to be in touch with the earth since it was the one element you could find anywhere, besides the air. And I'd felt so strong outside, like all of the earth's energy absorbed into my skin as soon as my feet were planted on the ground.

"Oh Uncle Jaden can we roll down the hill again? Whoever's first down wins?" I asked.

"I don't know Giselle. It's going to get dark soon. Maybe we should go back inside," he replied.

"Oh please, oh please, oh please!" I begged, pulling on the the bottom hem of his shirt.

He looked at me for a moment and then gave me , the sides of his eyes pulling up into wrinkles and his dimples no longer hidden beneath his cheeks. I'd always thought my Uncle Jaden was very handsome with his big muscles and big brown eyes, I never liked seeing him around other girls.

One day I had asked him if he had ever fallen in love before. He told me he had loved many girls before but he always assured me he was mine.

"Alright princess, just one race ok?"

"Ok!" I beamed, dropping myself to the ground. "Are you ready to eat my dust?" I asked, grinning wide and giggling.

"I'm sorry to tell you you're highness but you will be not winning today," getting into his position.

"Ready, set, go!"

We launched ourselves down the hill, the soft grass strands caressing our skin as we tumbled as fast as we could.

I made it to the bottom first. "I won!!" I cheered.

I turned around to look for Uncle Jaden, and found him sitting down a few feet away clutching on to his arm, his face twisted in pain.

"Are you okay Uncle Jaden?" I screeched as I ran up to him. As

I got close he had blood seeping between his fingers that was covering his arm. "Yeah I must've gotten a little scratch as I was going down the hill. I'm okay don't worry," he said trying to smile.

I walked up to him and carefully lifted his hand off. He had a long deep cut on his arm that continued to bleed.

"Wow would you look at that? Looks like I need stitches," he laughed halfheartedly.

I slowly lifted my other hand and placed it over his cut, which made him wince.

"Giselle?"

I closed my eyes, took a deep breath, concentrating really hard, and shortly I felt his pain disappear under my palm. I looked up to see him looking at me with wide eyes and an open mouth. "What did you just do?" He snatched his arm away from my hands and looked at his arm looking for the cut.
