Bonnie led us over to the parking lot where a group of kids stood talking next to the cars. "Hey guys! I'd like to introduce you to Felix and Giselle. They're new here," she beamed.

"Hi I'm Elena," a girl with long, dark hair holds out her hand to me. "I'm Giselle. It's nice to meet you," I reply and shake her hand. She looked like a very nice girl but her eyes seemed so sad, as if she had just finished mourning a loss.

Next a blonde, blue-eyed boy came up to me and introduced himself. "Hey I'm Matt," he smiled warmly. Oh gosh he's handsome and he looks so warm. I just want to wrap my arms around him and hug him for the longest time. "Hey are you okay?" he asked me. "Yeah sorry I just spaced out for a minute. I'm Giselle," I said, cursing myself for acting like an idiot on my first day of school. I shook his hand which was indeed so warm and a lot bigger than mine. "No worries," he laughed. Gahhh he has such a nice smile.

Bonnie turned to Felix, "Can I talk to you for a second?" He nodded and held my shoulder," I'll be right back."

I nodded, "I'll be right here." Then he walked off with her.

Felix's P.O.V.

Bonnie led me away from the parking lot to a nearly isolated area of trees on the side of the school. Then she spun around and whispered angrily to me,"I can't believe you never told her! Do you know how dangerous it is for someone like her to live in oblivion?!"

"Hey first of all it was my mom's decision to not let her in on the supernatural because we felt she didn't deserve any more crap in life than she's already been through. And second, I would rather her live COMPLETELY oblivious to the world if it means she'll get to live a normal, happy human life, free of nightmares of the monsters in it!" I growled. "And I especially don't think a complete stranger like you has any business butting into ours and telling me what's best and not best for Giselle."

I was so pissed someone, especially a girl I just met and who knew nothing about me nor Giselle, would criticize a tough choice my mom had to make, which I know now was best for her.

Bonnie stayed quiet after that. "I'm sorry. You're completely right. I shouldn't have been poking my nose into someone else's life."

"So she doesn't know anything? About vampires, werewolves, nothing?"

"Nope," I stated leaning against a tree, shoving my hands into my pockets. I looked over at Giselle who was in a conversation with Elena and Matt.

Bonnie stood next to me joining me in watching over her.

"You said that she has nightmares. What are they about?"

I hesitated in answering her. I wasn't too keen on trusting just anybody, but my gut told me Bonnie was okay.

"When she was ten, she witnessed the murder of her family by a group of vampires." My words full of venom.

"Oh my God," Bonnie whispered.

"They drained them, and set the house on fire to hide their tracks. Giselle saw the whole thing from where she was hidden. The bastards didn't even have the decency to compel her to forget. After we took her in, she would have these constant nightmares every night where she'd wake up screaming and crying. It was impossible to calm her down and put her back to sleep because she was so scared they would come back for her."

"That sounds awful," Bonnie said softly.

"It hurt to see her in such a vulnerable state. She was already in so much pain after losing my Aunt Charlaine and other cousins, but to have to relive each night, was too horrible to watch. So my mom put a spell on her to lock away those memories, she only knows that they died from a house fire, and she survived because there was a window in the basement she crawled out of."

"But she still has nightmares?"

"Yeah but not nearly as bad as before. They do come back once in a while but that's normal."

"Can she still access her memories? The ones your mom locked?"

"If she harnessed enough power to she could. But i don't think she's that powerful yet. But then again I have a habit of underestimating her." I smiled looking at Giselle making new friends and actually interacting with normal kids her age.

"Bonnie," I looked at her, boring my eyes into hers. "Promise me you won't tell her. Not a word of what I've shared with you."

"But Felix you can't-"

"Bonnie this is something I need you to trust me on! Please, I'm only doing this to protect her" I pleaded.

She looked as if she was internally battling herself to say no but she finally nodded,"I promise."

"Thank you," I smiled at her which she returned.

"Can I ask you something?"

"Sure," I replied.

"Giselle is special, isn't she?" Bonnie asked.

"Yeah she is. That's why she's been gifted. It has something to do with a link to vampires but my mom wouldn't specify the details with me, which is a favor I need to ask you."

"What do you need me to do?"

"I need you to keep any vampire you may know away from Giselle."

When I didn't hear a reply from her I looked around for any signs of trouble or possibly someone eavesdropping.

"What is it?"

"Umm that might be a problem," said Bonnie.

I instantly looked at Giselle and saw a blonde-headed figure making her way towards her.
