The tailor, the royal one at that. That's who (Y/n) had been married to. At least, that's what she was told while her hair was pulled and styled.
Now, she sat, brushing her hair, caught in the idea of her new life: and how her husband would effect it. So far, there hasn't been a problem. So far, he wasn't like her old master and mistress. She wondered if he even knew she was a slave.
This man could have had anyone: perhaps he'd be offended to know his bride was a former slave. He could've married fellow royalty, a dukes daughter, a duchess, a noble, even a peasant would be less insulting than a slave.
She even wondered why he would take her: did he want to marry?

"Frankly, her behaviors don't match the story the noble man gave me." Trender stated to his brothers, twirling the wine in his glass. A part of him wondered what his wife would do if she were here. She'd probably keep her head down and barely touch her food. Though, he wouldn't know, he wasn't even with her to see her eat.
"What was the story that they even gave you?" Offender asked, curious about his brother's bride. Sure, Slender was married, but now Trender was too? Next thing he knew Splendor was going to get married! Of course, Trender didn't really want to marry, he just decided to to see if the nobles kept their end of the deal. To Trender's dismay, they did.
"A daughter of a, lower income, noble family who had been prepped for marriage since she was 15. They said she was sweet, full of energy, and knew the basics of caring for a household. This girl has been timid, not at all full of energy, but she does know how to take care of a household."
"She's probably just nervous, you are royalty." Slender's wife piped up, sipping her wine. "I can't believe you didn't even decide to bring her."
"I barely spoke to her in the hour she arrived, why would I bring her here? I don't know even the half of what she's like!"
"Why accept a bride you didn't want?"
"I wanted to see if they were being honest. They were, now I have a wife. It doesn't matter to me, I was never planning on marrying anyway." Trender scoffed.
"And who knows, brother! Maybe you'll grow to love the woman." Splendor pipped up, just trying to be the positive.
"She's beautiful, but I'm not sure how her beauty would make me love her."
********************************************
"Are you certain you don't want me to make breakfast?" (Y/n) asked, watching the eggs sizzle on the pan, trying to avoid looking at her husband.
"Yes, I enjoy cooking. However, you can make lunch and dinner: if you please. They're not exactly a priority to me, seeing as I'm either at my brothers or too busy." Her husband said. Trender only heard a small "oh" in response as the room went silent.
He began to ponder what he could say, the silence seemed deadly. Glancing back toward the woman, her (h/l) (h/c) hair draped in front of her, caressed around her pointy and flushed ear.
"Why didn't you buy yourself dinner?" Trender asked, remembering the coin sack he had left her.
"I-It didn't feel right..." she replied, her eyes closed and her brows furrowed. "I-it isn't my money and there was stuff here to make myself something small."
Examining the woman once more, he knew something else was bothering him beside the lack of a fed bride. One last once over confirmed to him: it was the dress.
"Well then, we'll go to the market and restock my barren pantry. But first, you'll have to change." Trender said before plating their food and walking off.
(Y/n) blinked, confused and surprised. She cleaned up after him and as soon as she was done, he'd returned with a dress.
"Here, this will be waiting for you to change into after we eat." He said before hanging it in the room she had changed in the other day.
Trender took the seat across from her and began to eat. (Y/n) cautiously took her first bite: never eating a man's food before (excluding the baker on the corner). To her surprise, it was delicious. The eggs were cooked perfectly and everything else with the omelet tasted wonderfully together.
Her husband ate while examining her: curious. This woman didn't give the slightest hint of being a noble, perhaps she was really just a peasant. Not that he truly cared, either way she was a marriageable and desirable woman: she just didn't share the same traits as most nobles.
She wasn't greedy, didn't care to spend, wasn't offended by him asking her to change, and didn't put on any jewelry (except her ring). In fact, she didn't style her hair in any fancy or "fashionable" way like other noble women did. The clothes she put on were rather flat and simple as well, not that Trender minded either: just that it was unordinary.
"Thank you for making breakfast, it was lovely." His bride spoke, without even being spoken, to which was surprising. "I'll go change so we may leave."
She left the room without another word and Trender began to wonder how this would go. Would he end up loving her? Or will she just end up being his live-in assistant?
