Moving was easier than you expected. With the help of Toji, and a best effort Megumi, all of your belongings were in boxes and in your rented truck the same day. You had planned to move to a much smaller, cheaper apartment with the little money you managed to keep. Sukuna had paid for everything up until now, getting by would be hard. But, you knew you could manage. The first step was to get away and then worry about the future. As Toji had told, your safety was first.
"That everything?" Toji turned from the window to ask.
"Yep. Now we just have to drive to the apartments." You responded.
"You sure you wanna move there?" He questioned.
"They're the cheapest I could find."
"That neighborhood isn't so good, it's even more dangerous for someone like you living on their own."
     "I'll be fine." You said.
"I know it's not much better, but my doors always
open." He smiled.
"You would let me move in with you?" His offer had shocked you. Surely he was just being nice, but you were considering agreeing. Maybe a deeper love would bloom being closer to one another.
"Of course."
There was no way he could mean his words. There was no way you could agree. Still, you found yourself doubting your new apartment. You found yourself wanting to wake up next to Toji everyday, to hear his voice everyday and his smell to cover your bedsheets.
"Would you want me to move in with you?"
"Seeing you everyday would definitely make me happier."
That's how it happened. Finding yourself living with both the newfound people in your life, Toji and Megumi. Every morning consisted of waking up to the preparation of getting Megumi to school, Toji to work and you scouting for jobs. You could no longer rely on Sukuna's finance, but that wasn't a bad exchange for what you had now. Because now you were felt safe. You felt loved. And, you did wake up to the smell of Toji everymorning.
In fact, it lingered on your clothes. It was all around the house. A small thing was such a huge comfort to you. Megumi's bubble baths were another. His child intended shampoo coated the air when it was time for him to bathe. You didn't mind. It actually almost made you tear up to know that Megumi was so close and there for you. In fact, you were starting to feel like his mother. Even though you would never wish to replace his own and with you being nowhere near maternal material you still felt the connection to the boy. You would do anything in your power to keep him safe and happy.
"Welcome home!" You called from the kitchen when you heard the sound of the front door opening.
"F/N! Look what I made at school today!" Megumi ran to show you the drawing he made in class.
"Wow! You're really good at drawing, Megumi." You told, "I think this should go up on the fridge."
     "Really?" He questioned.
"Mhm! Here." You grabbed a nearby by magnet and placed the artwork on the front of the appliance. "Perfect."
     "Perfect!" Megumi repeated.
"Yeah, looks good." Toji's voice came from behind you.
Toji. You could almost cry just from thinking about him returning home to you. You hoped he was just as happy. Even with knowing each other for such a short time you already knew he was the best person to come across you in life. It was an opportunity for your life to be filled with joy. With Toji, everything felt right. Even with the abandonment of your luxuries you felt richer than ever.
"How was your day, Toji."
"It was fine. I hope I didn't cause you too much trouble with the apartment, I haven't really gotten a chance to clean it." He confessed.
"Oh, it was no problem at all! Actually, I cleaned most of it today."
"You didn't have to do that, F/N." He said.
"It was the least I could do, actually." You smiled at him.
It really was the least you could. Toji would probably never be able to understand just how much he had given you. He had saved you. Saved you from your life that you were sure wasn't actually living. He had showed you the kindness that people still held. He had shown you just how much you actually meant.
"I'm hungry." Megumi exclaimed followed by a growl from his stomach.
"If you grab a plate I can serve you up some lunch I made."
"Mm, yes please!"
Toji, you and Megumi sat around the small coffee table in the living room and dug into your meals. Toji's apartment was small and there wasn't much in the kitchen, living room, one bathroom and two bedroom space. Spaced out furniture was all that was in it with no decoration. You wondered if Toji would let you purchase decor for the place. It could even be a fun little outing for you, him, and Megumi.
"Hey, Toji." You said later that night as he began to undress from his day clothes.
"Hm?"
"Thank you. For letting me live here, I know I haven't been here long but I really appreciate it."
"Don't even mention it." He turned to grin at you, "I'm glad you're here."
That was enough to have tears flowing freely down your face. It had been so long since someone was happy you were there. Since someone had confirmed you weren't a burden to them. You were so glad. So glad to have him here, do have such a lucky thing happen to you. Never had you been so appreciated.
"Hey, pretty girl, don't cry." Toji rushed to wipe away your tears with his hands, "there's nothing to cry about it. Just be happy, okay?"
"I am happy." You beamed up at him, "I'm so happy Toji. I'm the happiest I've ever been." Toji smiled and gave a kiss on either side of your cheeks.
"Come on, why don't we rest up? We can go do some outings tomorrow."
You nodded and cuddled up into Toji's arms. Yes, you could get more then used to this. It might become the only way you can fall asleep. Tangled in the warmth of him, taking in the smell of home.

Author's Note

thank you so much to everyone who has read this. it means so so so so so much to me. i published this book to test out the water's of the concept of this book and honestly i'm surprised with how many reads it got. i was expecting 100 max, to be honest. people who enjoyed this book and are reading this now you mean the world to me. thank you !

i haven't updated this book in a long time but that's because i'm completely unsatisfied with it. even this is just a draft from a long time ago that I did not plan on releasing. it bugs me so much to know how much better i could've made this book. so that's why i'm planning to rewrite, most likely on a new account. that's another problem i have, creating accounts when unsatisfied with my work. it's a habit i'm trying to curb as an author. trust me, though, i'm going to do my best to give this book everything i want it to be.

i'll update once i have released the first chapter. it may look slightly different but i'm going to keep the main concept as i have fallen in love with this story that has been circulating in my head forever. it's just so hard to be satisfied with what i put into words! again, i'm so sorry for inconveniences and being one of those authors. i'm going to do my best to muster up the motivation and produce a book i wholeheartedly love and hopefully you do too! if you would like to check out my completed book from a while ago it's called Curse's Honey by AaliyahWallows. my first fanfic and although there could be a lot of improvements i'm proud to have completed it.

so, so, so, so, so sorry again and for writing so much. i appreciate and love everyone so much. until hopefully next time, thank you once more. ♥︎
