➭ Book 2, Chapter 4: The Obstacle Race [part 1]

Airi's POV

We were at the bus, sitting in front of the door so we can run afterwards. Well, when the bus stopped Kenzui wanted to do a race till UA (it was located some metres away).

*doors open*

[Kenzui]: You ready?

[Airi]: Just a second.

I used my quirk to cause my backpack to float so it didn't bother me while I was running. We obviously didn't use our quirks, because we weren't allowed to.

[Airi]: Want me to float your backpack too?

[Kenzui]: Sure.

[Airi]: Okay. Well then, count to three!

I saw a smirk on her face. What did she have in my mind?

[Kenzui]: 3...2...1.... GO!

And, after she said "Go" she also whispered "Create". You barely could hear it.

That meant... SHE USED HER QUIRK?!

I started to run as fast as I could while she was just waiting for me on the "start line".

And then, out of nowhere... SHE STARTED TO RUN LIKE SONIC?! In a couple of seconds she got into the front door of UA.

[Airi]: YOU CHEATER!

[Kenzui]: Eh, I thought you would cheat but you didn't. So I guess I WIN! HAHAH!

[Airi]: I hate you.

She clearly wasted my time. I got my backpack that was still floating but hers, no. I left it in the air.

[Kenzui]: Could you please get my backpack?

[Airi]: You wish.

[Kenzui]: OH COME ON! I DON'T WANT TO WASTE ANOTHER QUIRK!

[Airi]: Ugh, fine. It's an exception today. Remember that.

I got her backpack from the air by using my wand and gave it to her. We slowly walked to the main door. Midnight was in the hallway so I asked her where we had to go.

After a couple of minutes of dressing with the school's gym uniforms we finally got to the waiting room of Class 1-A.

Everyone looked at us while we got in.

[Uraraka]: Hey Airi!

[Airi]: Hey!!

I went to the corner of the room, where Iida, Uraraka and Deku were.

Kenzui's POV

Airi left me without caring and I was just standing in front of the room and I was just standing in the middle of the room, with my headphones and my phone. I grabbed a seat without caring who was next to me, and sat. I opened my phone once again, and scrolled down to find a song that I liked.

I have such a great taste.

I've lost sense of the environment. I was just vibing with the song. I think I sang the lyrics out loud. But who cares?

Suddenly, I felt someone tapping me in my shoulder...

[Kenzui]: Huh?

[Bakugo]: Oi, what are you listening to again?

[Kenzui]: Oh, yeah--

[Bakugo]: Those songs that I haven't heard before?

[Kenzui]: Maybe?

[Bakugo]: Can I check them out?

[Kenzui]: If you really want to.

I handed him the headphones and my phone.

[Bakugo]: Hayloft? What's that again?

[Kenzui]: Heh, you don't know it? I said nervous

[Bakugo]: No I don't. I told you the other day we walked home together.

WHAT DID HE SAY?? HE REMEMBERS??

[Kenzui]: Oh yeah. I bet you want explanations. I'll tell you don't worry.

[Bakugo]: Yeah whatever.

He listened to a lot of songs while I was just staring. He seemed to like the songs from my dimension.

Anyway, we got so distracted that we didn't even notice the little fight Todoroki and Izuku had. Crazy right?

After a couple of minutes Midnight opened the door.

[Midnight]: Class 1-A, please follow me.
