GREAT XPECTATIONS

...🛶...

LIFE around the Leery household was all very much baby in the brain, for after the assurance of her children, Gail had made the decision to keep her pregnancy going. But a new arrival wasn't the only good news around Capeside, not when Andie had gotten early admission into Harvard.

Heather ran through the halls of Capeside High, shouting apologies over her shoulder with anyone who suffered a collision because of it, but she had somewhere to be. The Leery girl skidded around the corner, a wide grin forming as she spotted the perky blonde "There she is everyone! Future Harvard graduate, class of 2005!"

Andie's head whipped over, a grin sporting to match Heather's as she rushed towards her, both completely uncaring of the stares they received from those lingering in the hall as the pair grabbed hands and jumped up and down in excitement "I did it!"

Heather nodded with a warm smile before she pulled the girl into her arms "You did it, McPhee."

Andie melted into the embrace "And I couldn't have done it without you."

...🛶...

HEATHER'S smile hadn't lessened for the remainder of the day, the pride rolling off in her waves as she strolled through Capeside, hand-in-hand with Pacey who couldn't help but smile just because of hers. But that didn't stop the Witter boy from complaining "This town is sorely lacking in post-meridian activities."

Heather opened her mouth to respond when a flyer was thrust into her hand by Drue who just happened to be leaving the music store. The Leery girl raised an eyebrow at the fluorescent colored paper "A rave?"

"Yeah, you know it's like a party, big and scary to you small town folks." Drue smirked as he looked between the couple who rolled their eyes "Will I see you there or is it another Friday night down by the crick for you country bumpkins?"

Pacey scoffed as he turned towards the music store "It's not exactly our scene—"

"We'll be there." Heather cut her boyfriend off, quickly grabbing his arm and pulling him away from the Valentine boy and the store "See you tonight."

Pacey raised an eyebrow down at the girl as she dragged him away "We will?"

"You're the one who bitched and moaned about Capeside lacking in post-meridian activities." She reminded, doing her best to get the Witter boy away.

"I reserve the right to bitch and moan." Pacey smirked, wrapping an arm around the girls shoulder "I've earned it."

Heather gave him a weak smile that he didn't notice, glancing back over her shoulder just as Dawson and Gretchen made their way out of the music store together. The very reason she'd jumped to agree to the rave, for she knew if Pacey saw what she had through the window of the store, whatever stood of his and Dawson's friendship would crumble completely.
