After popping a pain killer, I got out of bed. That damn teyana almost broke my legs. I ain't gon' lie she put it on me real good. I carefully walked to the kitchen. Once again, my mother is at work. I haven't decided whether I want that apartment or not. I mean, I need to get away from this place but I can't leave my mother behind.
I refuse to do that. Once she come home tonight, i'm telling her to come with me.
"YO! MY MAIN MAN, OPEN UP!" Baby boy shouted through the door.
I wobbled towards the door & opened it.
"What yo' dumbass doing here?"
"I came here looking for booty" he joked.

I laughed "hilarious."
We went outside & sat on the steps. "So, what's up?"
"We need to talk man."
"Why? What happened?"
"Did you sleep with teyana last night?"
"Yeah, why?"
"Well, word on the streets is that your gonna be a daddy."
"Excuse me?"
"Your having a baby man. Congratulations."
"How is this possible? I used protection!"
"Either she poked holes in your condom or it broke during the process. Whatever happened, your still the daddy."
"This can't happening, not now!"
"What you gon' do now man?"
I ran my hand through my dry curls. Ah shit, I'm completely screwed. I can't be having a baby! My mother will flip the fuck out if she finds out. I'm against abortion or any type of harm towards a baby. I'm too young to raise one, hell I'm still in school. I don't think i'll have enough time to finish school & be there for my child.
I have no other choice, I guess.
"I'm gonna raise it. I'll just drop out for the final year & get a legit job. Take care of my child until it gets grown."
He smiled "my man, always doing the right thing."
"Although, I don't know what my mother would say or let along react."
"She would be mad as fuck but she would be happy that you'll doing the right thing."
I sighed "this is my new life now. Being a soon-to-be father."
"Congratulations, man."
"Thanks, man."
