Last Day Of School

I sighed as I watch the clock move for what felt like forever. Today is the last day of going to this hell-bent called school. Months of studying & testing making my brain rot to pieces. I haven't caught a break yet but today is the day I do. I can't wait to see mama & celebrate with her. Although, I doubt she'll be at home despite the fact she's always out during the day. She's working those long hours at work. I never get to see her. Currently, toning out the teacher's very long boring lecture along with the rest of the students. All I can think about is going home & relaxing. Writing in my notebook & coming up with new ideas. Hopefully one day, somebody will recognizes my writing skills & hires me as a author or a journalist. When the school bell rang, I immediately jumped up & was the first one to exit the room. Everyone behind me was running towards the exit themselves. The pain we go through to sit in those lectures all day. As I made it downstairs, a fellow student stopped me.

"Darryl!" The guy shouted getting my attention.

I rolled my eyes & turned around putting a fake smile on my face "yes?"

"I just wanna say that you've done a good job this year & I'm proud of you man" the guy said.

"Thanks, thank you."

"High-five brother" the guy said holding his hand up. I awkwardly high-five the guy & continue exiting the school building. The fresh cold air blows in my face as I stepped outside. Everyone happily runs down the sidewalk towards the bus stop. Since I don't have a car, I follow along. Once we enter the bus, everyone claimed their seats. I sighed as I took my seat near the window. This summer is going to be perfect. Doing nothing but relaxing.

Idiots in the back acting a fool throwing paper everywhere. I pulled out my book & begin to read it. I was too distracted by a hand going inside of my jacket putting thousands of mini paper balls in. I squealed & immediately yanked out his hand.

Once the bus was emptied, it was silent but not for long. It was time to get off the bus. I walked to the subway station blending in with the crowd. I found a seat & waited for everyone else to get in. This is going to be a long ride. I felt a strange presence beside me. A strange guy staring at the side of my cheek. He smiled awkwardly knowing he got caught.

"How many guys are proud of you?" He asked striking up a conversation.

"Three."

He scoffed "Four guys are proud of me."

The train stopped ending this weird conversation. The man got up grabbing his suitcase.

"Be the man" He said dapping me.

"Be the man."

He exited off the subway. I pulled off my gloves gently massaging my hand. Its uncomfortable to wear leather gloves for a whole day especially when its cold.
