I suck at titles...

It was Monday, and Peter had nearly fallen asleep several times in the Decathlon meeting. The only thing that kept him awake was MJ smacking him in the back of the head with her book every once in a while when he started to doze off.

As Peter's eyes started to close once again, this time, Mr. Harrington caught him.

"Mr. Parker, I know you're tired, but please try to stay awake for the last five minutes. I have good news for the team, and it'd be a shame if you missed out."

"Sorry Mr. Harrington." Peter's cheeks were tinted slightly red from embarrassment.

"The good news is," Mr. Harrington announced, "we are taking a celebration field trip for winning the last championship!"

The class cheered. Just over a week ago, their team had crushed the championship. They were one of the few undefeated teams in the county, and this was their third win in a row this school year.

"I am so proud of you guys, so you deserve a little treat. We're going to spend Friday at the beach!"

The team's excitement was obvious. Peter was never a fan of field trips (something always went wrong), but even he was excited to spend a day at the beach.

Friday rolled around in no time. Peter had set his alarm thirty minutes earlier, but woke up five minutes before it went off to Clint dropping and shattering a plate in the kitchen. (No one knows how. Clint had broken so many glasses and plates before that Tony had bought an entire new set of kitchenware that was unbreakable, yet Clint still managed to break a bowl and two plates in less than 48 hours. Apparently they needed to be made out of titanium to be safe for Clint to use.)

Peter hopped out of bed and Friday turned on his light. He proceeded to spend fifteen minutes to pick out a short sleeved floral button down, a pair of worn vans, and a pair of shorts that were somewhat waterproof and kind of looked like swim trunks. Peter made a note to shop for swim trunks and went to comb his hair.

After eating breakfast and grabbing his backpack, Peter made a final stop to his room to grab his surfboard out of his closet.

Happy pulled up in front of the school, exchanged goodbyes with Peter, and left Peter to join the group of teenagers standing in front of a bus.

"Hey loser," MJ said. She was wearing jean shorts and an open blue flannel with a black bikini top. She had a pair of black sandals and was holding a surfboard.

"Hey MJ." Peter noticed the surfboard. "I didn't know you could surf."

MJ gestured toward Peter's board. "I didn't know you could either."

"Hey guys!" Ned walked up wearing a button down shirt similar to Peter's, swimming trunks, and a pair of beige sandals. He was wearing a hat and a pair of sunglasses, and had sunscreen covering only his nose.

"Hey Ned," Peter and MJ said simultaneously.

Alright, everyone seems to be here! Let's get on the bus," Mr. Harrington shouted.

Peter felt Mr. Harrington tapped him on the head lightly and murmured "eleven" as Peter entered the bus. He sat down in front of Ned and across from MJ. There were less than twenty students on the team, so the bus was half empty.
