She had stayed hidden from the world for centuries, staying far away from growing civilizations and the wars between them. Never giving herself a name, she lived on different continents shifting her form to every manner of beast and weird combinations of each, creating more of a form if she found them intriguing, leaving all manner of folklore and myths in her wake.
She ran through the forests of Scotland as a child shifting to her favorite form, the one the humans called a Griffin, loving the feeling of strength under her skin. Leaping as high as she can she climbs to the top of the trees, nary a feeling of falling and lets out her mightiest roar before leaping and taking flight high above the treetops. Spotting a dragon flying in the distance she flies towards her creations' offspring.
Flying as fast as she can manage with her powerful wings she catches up landing on the back of the dragon, said dragon lets out a shriek of displeasure and shock as it quickly dives, trying to shake whatever intruder off.
Shifting back to a child she lets out a squeal of happiness as she holds onto the horns on the dragon's back with ease, as the dragon twists and turns trying to shake the unwanted stowaway off.
Mid squeal of laughter, the girl notices a castle being built on top of a cliff. Curiosity overwhelming her she carelessly falls off the horned dragon, diving straight down, transforming into a raven before she gets too close to the ground and flies around examining the building watching as bricks fly into place.
Tilting her head she flies closer she spies four figures moving around, creating and levitating bricks into their rightful places. Upon close inspection she notices it is 2 men and 2 women.
The girl flies down and lands on a nearby tree as she watches, curious as to why these humans can do things she can.
"Godric are you sure we can't get any help in building the castle, this will take years to finish" the woman in blue says
The man n a red tunic looks over then back to what he was doing, "Cease your whinging, woman the muggles must not know of us. I have said this much" The girl assumes this is Godric
"She is not wrong Godric, it will take a while if it is just the 4 of us building this castle" The woman in Yellow interjects,
Godric whirls around facing her "Where do your loyalties lie Helga, if not with me"
"None said anything of loyalties Godric, come from her and continue, if my calculations are correct we shall finish building before the end of the millennia." The man in Green robes says
"Then best get back to it, Salazar and quit dallying, you too Rowena stop drawing the birds," Godric replies moving the stick in his hand in peculiar patterns.
"I'm not Drawing, as much as I want to be, I'm writing the wards, since you want muggles not to know of this place, I'll write them to deter all who have no magic like us, be grateful." The woman in blue, Rowena, says
"Watch your tone woman!" Godric snaps
Having had enough of the humans petty fights the girl flies off, letting out a caw, the woman in blue turns and looks at her and smiles. The wind carrying her voice to raven ears "what a pretty bird"

The girl flew and ran for many centuries, eventually staying as a human for the majority of the time and blending in with them, learning everything she could including every language she came across, and never staying in one place for too long for fear of recognition.
She voted in favor of staying young for she cant de-age, but can only age slowly to the point of not aging for as long as she wants. Never really feeling the need to sleep or eat, only eating when something peaked her interest or when she was offered. Eventually decided she was tired of roaming, she started examining people to persuade into letting her stay with them. Letting herself fall invisible she walks through the streets of what those magic users, witches and wizards she reminds herself, call muggle london.
After about a century of looking she spots two people standing outside a house holding each other, looking at the house smiling, as a third person in a suit comes and takes the for sale sign from the front lawn.
"They just bought that house didn't they" The girl thinks to herself before slowly moving closer.
"We did it John, we can finally start our family" the woman says
"It's ours Emily, the bank can never take it from us." The man, John says
Hermione moves closer, puts an innocent look on her face and appears next to them, gently tugging on the woman's shirt. Gaining both man and woman's attention.
"Well hello there little girl, what is your name?" John says crouching down to get on her level.
"I don't have one, would you give me one?" The girl says
John looks confused before looking to Emily who looks just as confused. "Uh, I don't-" he manages to get out but a far away look over takes them both, then a gentle smile over takes both of their faces.
"You are Hermione Granger, our daughter that we adopted a week ago, how old are you baby girl?" Emily says, picking the girl now Hermione up, holding her on her hip.
"I don't know, i've been around for a few years, but you can't tell anyone This," Hermione says golden numbers appear in floating in front of her slowly ticking up

Years:Days:Hours:Minutes:Seconds"It appears I'm nearly 10 thousand years old" Hermione says as if that wasn't ground breaking news. Both John and Emily let out a gasp.
"Well how about this? You look about 9 year old, today is September 19th 1988. So that can be your birthday, we can put on your birth certificate September 19, 1979." John says matter of factly.
Hermione thinks it over then nods. "Well that's that, why don't we go inside our new home." Emily says as she starts walking to the house, John following behind.
"I'll have to permanently alter their memories to include me later, while they are sleeping is best" The once nameless girl thought to herself a grin forming on her face "this is going to be so fun"
