"We haven't much time now, we have to start heading for the train." Minerva says moving us towards the Train Station. Hermione knows there are multiple paths one could take to get to the train station, the main one being through The Leaky Cauldron.
The path they chose was by apparition, McGonagall leading them to one of the twenty-five dedicated apparition points in all of diagon alley, the one to the left of the entrance to Gringotts bank.
The tight squeeze of apparition is unsettling to Hermione, more used to smooth teleportation or by just flying everywhere, yet she can do neither since she isn't alone.
Standing before the large red train engine for the first time would be daunting to anyone that had not known of its existence before or seeing it for the first time, As Hermione witnesses a bunch of kids staring at the train in awe. She notices one boy not quite looking at the train but at the ground, seemingly searching for something. She decides to approach him.
"Looking for something?" Hermione says, placing her hand on his shoulder. The boy in question jumps slightly before turning around and looking at Hermione. "Oh sorry, I didn't mean to startle you." Hermione says looking quite sheepish
"It's ok, you just quite literally shocked me s all, the name is Nevile, Nevile Longbottom" Nevile says sticking his hand out "And you are?"
"Oh my name is Hermione Granger, " she replies, shaking his hand "I saw you looking for something and I thought I might help."
"Oh, right. It's just that I seemed to have misplaced my toad Trevor, can you help me find him? The train leaves in, my gosh 5 minutes." He exclaims looking up at a clock on the wall
"Oh I'm sure he'll turn up eventually, but I will ask around though. But for now we should get on the train before all the seats are taken." She says placing her hand on his shoulder.
"Yeah, yeah okay." Nevile says frowning a bit as he suddenly turns and starts walking towards the train.
"Damnit," Hermione mutters under her breath at Neville's retreating form. "I really need to learn control, I really should not have put this off for this long." She sighs.
Hermione moves to step onto the train but the feeling of being watched makes her stop and look around, the heaviness of the gaze on her makes her shudder and grit her teeth. Scanning the crowd she can't see anyone out right watching her, so she shudders again and steps further into the train. Shaking her head once that heavy feeling of being watched dissipates.
"Saints above" Hermione breathes, deciding to ignore what happened, Hermione moves towards the storage car that holds all of the extra luggage for all of the students, as she passes each private room she keeps an ear out for the heartbeat of a magical toad. Not hearing it by the time she reaches the storage car, she finds her trunk rather easily despite never seeing it before and decides to etch her name into the lid with a clawed finger, so everyone else knows its hers.
Once she's done she checks to see if anyone is around her before she reaches into her little pocket dimension and pulls out her wand, sitting on top of her trunk she closes her eyes, and tries to summon her magic in a limited and not completely overbearing way.
Gripping the wand tight as she feels sparks of pure magic coming off it, she exhales completely as she tries to put protection on her trunk and everything inside it so no harm can come to it.
"Just a precaution" Hermione whispers to herself as she hops off her trunk and opens her eyes. Tapping her trunk once with her wand to seal the enchantment, her trunk glows brightly for a few seconds before the light fades.
As a test, Hermione tries to scratch the trunk with her claws that she had grown out. The second she tries to scratch, she is exploded backwards into the side of the train car with great force, but not enough force to kill or knock a human unconscious, but enough to hurt. "Saints" Hermione groans out, "that was unexpected." Sighing she stands up and walks back over to her trunk and pulls her school robes and puts them on.

After adjusting her robes to fit her slightly better, Hermione leaves the storage car and starts walking back through the cars, deciding to ask if anyone had seen a toad. She comes to a room with 3 boys and 1 girl. Noticeably one of the boys has platinum blond hair, slicked back with quite possibly an entire jar of hair gel. Hermione snickers to herself before asking "Have any of you seen a toad around?"
"No I haven't," the girl says, turning her attention back towards the window.
The blond boy scoffs as if he can't believe she was speaking to him. Hermione is about to say something more before the trolley lady comes and asks if anyone wants anything, Hermione just says no and just moves out of the way.
Moving on Hermione keeps asking people about the toad until she comes across a room with two boys and a rat. Hermione internally grimaces at the red-headed boy absolutely stuffing his face with candy, she waits a second and sees him pull out his wand, choosing then to announce herself.
"You're doing magic? Let's see it Then" She says leaning on the door frame.
"Sunshine, daisies, butter mellow turn this stupid, fat rat yellow" The readhead says then proceeds to swing his wand carelessly and vigorously trying to get it to work. Only managing to succeed in making himself look stupid. She moves into the cabin and sits across from the brunette that seems to have an almost insensible aura of dark magic surrounding him, but not connected to him at all. This confuses Hermione but she Doesn't show it.
"You want to see real magic?" Hermione asks, pulling out her "wand" and pointing it at the brunette's broken glasses "Oculus reparo" The boys' glasses perfectly repair themselves. A gasp of astonishment sounds from the red head.
"Wow, Thanks." the boy says taking his glasses off to look at them before putting them back on. "The name is Harry, Harry Potter." Harry says holding his hand out.
"Hermione Granger" She says Grabbing his hand and shaking it."Pleasure to meet you."
"You mean you don't know who he is? He's the boy who lived!" The redhead exclaims.
"And you are supposed to be?" Hermione says, a look of disdain creeps through her mask yet neither boy seems to take notice.
"Ronald Weasley, but everyone calls me Ron. And he is famous in the wizarding world for being the only person to survive the killing curse" The boy Ron states
"That supposed to mean something to me?" Hermione says with a look of confusion on her face, looking between the boys. Harry shrugs and Ron nods.
"Well I'll find out soon enough, I guess. But for now I shall take my leave." Hermione says standing up. Looking curiously at Harry one last time before making her leave.
