"There are 10 cores in total, 3 unicorn hair cores for reliability, 3 dragon heart strings for strength well to control that strength of yours make it a little less volatile, 2 phoenix feathers for balance and stability, a kelpie hair and hippogriff feather for added effect though they don't do much besides add to the amount of output you give it. The wood on the other hand I used two, the wand handle is made out of Acacia, it should answer to you and only you while the length of it is made of Walnut." Garrick Olivander says Handing the wand over to Hermione "That was the trickiest wand to create i'll tell you that."

"The thickest wand I've ever seen, and by far the longest, more so a staff than a wand, how long even is it." Hermione asks astonished taking it into her hands examining the smooth wood, before letting it fall through her hands to the ground to measure it against herself , it came up to her hip. "I could use this as a cane."

"It's about 1 and a half meters long, sorry I couldn't make it any shorter my friend, any shorter and it got unstable. I made it as short as I possibly could. But go ahead channel your magic through it, see if it works will ya." Garrick says leaning against the counter. McGonagall watching silently from the door.

"I guess I'll give it a go… No time like the present eh" Hermione says as she grips the top of her wand, closing her eyes. Summoning her powers is easy, the hard part comes from trying to push her magic to the wand.

Nothing happens for a few moments, but then the ground starts to shake slightly, small items around the store start to levitate and vibrate at an increasing pace.

Alarmed McGonagall steps forward and places her hand on Hermione's shoulder. "Hermione dear relax." She says in a placating tone.

Hermione frowns a little "Just a bit more" she says screwing her eyes tighter together, "There!" she exclaims snapping her eyes open in the same instance everything stops and drops back to their original places. "Sorry about that, this wand was fighting me, it didn't want me, shockingly. Though I can't blame it, considering I break all others I try to use. How much do you want for it?" Hermione asks, holding the wand like a sword.

"Consider it a gift, to an old friend" Garrick says smiling "I couldn't possibly ask for money, but did I hear you finally got a name? After all these years?"

"I did indeed," Hermione replies, matching his smile, "The name is Hermione Granger, I quite like this one better than what people used to come up with, I like the plainness of it."

"You headed to Hogwarts I presume? Otherwise you would have no need for a wand, I imagine." Garrick suggests.

"You would be correct to assume that, need to learn control. As I grow, so do my powers." Hermione says holding her wand up to the light, "Hey do you think anything bad would happen if I were to shrink this."

"If you were to shrink it? Hmm I wouldn't know. Wands normally can't be shrunk by your average witch or wizard," Ollivander muses "But you are no average anything are you? Go ahead, give it a try."

"Are you sure that's wise?" McGonagall says already beyond confused by what is happening here.

"Not in the slightest," The wand maker retorts "But I'm not one to stop Hermione here doing anything, she'd too easily over power me."

Hermione takes the wand and holds both ends, one pressed into each hand. She slowly applies pressure and to the surprise of both Garrick and Minerva, it does indeed shrink.

"In all my years, I've never seen anything like this," McGonagall remarks, placing her hand over her chest.

"And you won't remember this either, because that would cause too many problems" Hermione grunts out, as she shrinks the wand down to a manageable one foot. "Garrick remember to act as though you don't know me, well as if you just met me… lest this will be all for naught, this is slightly more permanent than an.. Obliviate was it?" She says, as she seemingly carelessly drops the wand into the air where it disappears before it hits the ground.

Hermione moves closer to Minerva and places her hand over her heart, Minerva's eyes immediately fall closed and goes limp, Hermione there to catch her.

Garrick watches confused as Hermione pulls the entire memory of Minerva out, not from her head but from her magical core. Hermione then physically tears the portion of memories off from when they entered the store. Permanently destroying the encounter with no trace of tampering.

"I'm just going to Hogwarts to learn control and have fun, roaming for 9 ½ thousand years is boring, staying still for five hundred is even worse… Needed something to do, if you understand Garrick, I didn't need this but it is necessary, nobody can know." Hermione says mostly to herself sealing the memory back into Minerva's magical core. "Now remember, say nothing, oh and can I get a basic wand also so I can keep that special one hidden, one that I can show everyone and pretend to use… I'm not dumb enough to actually use it."

"I have just the wand for you" Ollivander says and disappears into the back.

The second he's gone the older witch wakes "Are you alright? Professor? You passed out for a second, Mr Ollivander went to go get another wand for me to try" Hermione says putting on an innocent mask.

"Yes, yes I'm fine dear must have not gotten enough sleep, it's quite alright" McGonagall says a bit dazed.

"Ahhh here we are, Vine 10¾, dragon heartstring. Give that a wave." Ollivander says coming back to the front, handing the wand to Hermione.

Hermione waves the wand and uses her magic to make something levitate, showing disinterest to Ollivander keeping Minerva behind her so she can't see her face.

"It seems this wand chooses you, the others not so much, if you want it, it will be 4 galleons." Ollivander states.

McGonagall hands Ollivander the Galleons, then shepherds Hermione out the store. "See you around Ms. Granger" Ollivander says, winking.

Hermione smirks and rolls her eyes at her old friend.
