"Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry" Hermione says moving to sit on her bed "They can do magic too. But it's quite primitive compared to what we can do, and on top of that they have to use wands. An old friend made me one that can control me to a point. It's so fancy" Hermione says, pulling the wand out of thin air, showing it to her sister, giggling. "It used to be longer but I shrunk it."
Sanath grabs the wand examining it, unsure what to make of it. "It is quite pretty Aru, but you shouldn't rely on these primitive tools. Just embrace your powers, And stop fighting it." She says, tossing the wand back to Hermione who stores it, before she does an elegant twirl, and sits in the air. Relaxing back into a chair that isn't there.
"And you know that I can't do that, my magic is different than yours sis, you know this." Hermione says with a sullen face, looking down at the ground. "The last time that happened I killed 500 demons, and was Banished, forced to walk this mortal plain till the day I die, which would be for eternity, since you know we can't really be killed by mortals. I am Never to go home again." Moving to the window, Hermione sighs looking out of it.
Hermione hears a sigh behind her before she feels a hand on her back and another on her shoulder. "At least this mortal plain, as you so elegantly put it, has a beautiful moon you can Look at. If you remember, we don't."
"Yea,The French call it La Lune, which literally translates to the moon, but I like it better than just calling it the moon."
"Lune eh? That would be a pretty name. Hmm what about Luna that sounds prettier"
Hermione sighs feeling the air prickle against her skin. "I don't want you to go, I missed you much" Hermione leans her head on the shoulder next to her
"I'll come back, I know where you are now, I'll find a way. That I promise you."
Hermione sighs "I guess you should go, It's late. I bet mother will be wondering where you are, and humans are finicky about Demons."
"Ah, so quick to get rid of me are you?" Sanath jokes in a dreamy tone. "But I understand, I fear The elder will find out if I stay longer. So then, I guess I will go, I'll see you soon little sister." Sanath turns towards Hermione, pulling her head closer and touches her horns to Hermione's "sta fortis"
"tenetur in sempiternum" replies Hermione. Grimacing as the air vibrates when Sanath disappears. "It will be a new experience for everyone. And I just want to have some fun. So let us see what chaos I can cause." Hermione says to nobody in particular Looking back out to the moon, as her features fade slowly morph back to that of one Hermione Granger. "And what damage can I fix?" Hermione finishes, breathing out a puff of smoke. Moving back over to her bed before crawling under the covers and submitting herself to the warmth of the magically warmed blankets. Sleep quickly overcoming her.
________
Hermione's eyes flutter when she smells a familiar beautiful smell… The smell of Oleander.
Hermione's eyes snap open to a sight she never thought she would see again. Her old room. Looking to her left she notices the wall of pink and purple hues of the Oleander, reaching out to touch one of the dangerous and highly poisonous plants for humans. Plucking a flower off she carefully folds the entire flower into a small piece and puts the whole of it in her mouth, tasting the bitter but extremely sweet taste of the poison. Moaning in her head quietly at the taste.
"It tastes like home" Hermione thinks to herself. Still savoring it.
"There's no way." Hermione tries to say, but realizes that she can't create sound. Trying to reach out to her powers. No luck there either. Moving to the center of the room Hermione stops,
"this must be a dream,"
"no it can't be, I wouldn't be able to taste or feel anything."
"But the last thing I remember is falling asleep"
"It's not a dream."
"Then how am I here?"
Hermione's inner argument is cut short by the door of her room springing open, and there in all her glory. Is a woman she thought she would never see again. The woman that stood by and watched as her own daughter was cast out, banished to the human realm with nothing, not even a name. But there standing in front of her is the Demon she and all her siblings doted on. The demon within which she got her red eyes and silver hair from. The demon that raised her with every ounce of love she could give, before turning her back on her.
The Demons' hardened eyes who are looking right at her.
"Mother" Hermione thinks with angry and confused tears in her eyes. Reaching out to touch, but something stops her and she clenches her fist. Her face contorted into pure anger.
Hermione's mother's eyes soften as she looks around the room before she moves to sit on the bed. She gently smooths the non-existent wrinkles out and corrects the already perfect pillows. She suddenly stops moving, and grabs one of the pillows, and hugs it to herself, closes her eyes and begins humming a lullaby Hermione remembers quite clearly causing all her anger to vanish.
The demoness summons her magic and gently waters Hermione's plants, never once moving or opening her eyes. "Proficient in water." Hermione scoffs internally "ironic, considering she couldn't extinguish my flames"
The humming continues and eventually summons someone to the room.
"Mother you can't keep doing this," A tired yet distinctly familiar says from behind Hermione.
Hermione turns and spies another face she thought she would never see again, though aged a bit and not as baby-faced. His quad obsidian black horns growing in just like fathers.
"Morgolen" Mother sighs in a weary voice "I thought you were going out"
"Well I was, am, but I had Forgotten something. Then I heard you, Humming the lullaby you had only for her again…" My younger Brother explains leaning on the door frame. Before he sighs and moves to sit next to mother. "You can't keep doing this," He repeats "You are the one who abandoned her when she needed you the most." speaking the truth as he always did.
"I did not abandon my daughter" Mother spoke fiercely "I did what I had to, to secure the future…" She says, gaining a far off look in her eyes, whispering the next words. "All Is as it should be, for her to be able to return stronger than all of us."
"What is that supposed to mean Mother? You know how the trial went. Exiled and banished, never to return."
"I cannot tell you my son. Just know all is as it should be…"
My Brother's face turns contemplative before he stands. "Sanath Agran is planning something… I think she means to run."
"Do not worry Morgolen, Sanath is doing what she must to whether she knows it or not, she will bring her home… Eventually"
Hermione stands shocked, confused and dazed before the feeling of falling overtakes her, the world around her fades away and she sits up in bed with a yelp, breathing hard. Looking around the room she gains her barings back and looks to the window to see the moon no longer lights up the night sky, but the red and yellow hues of the sunrise shine in its place.
Growling in confusion and anger Hermione stands and prepares for her first day.
