chapter 5: secret girlfriend..

It's been a week since me and Helena had our little "fling". The press hasn't found out yet but I'm really worried about what people will think.
I haven't spoken to Helena in ages, I thought she'd forgotten about me until I got a text on Saturday morning:

Hellie<3
Y/n, meet me at the usual place in 20 mins, it's important.
Y/n
Um ok, are you alright?
Hellie <3
No time to talk, just get here.

You set off the second you got the last text and arrived 5 minutes early, but of course, Helena was there before you.
"Hello y/n" she said smiling, pulling you in for a hug
"Hi hellie" you hugged her back.
"I know calling you over here was kind of random, but it's important"
"That's ok, are you ok? do you want to talk about it somewhere else?"
"Yes I think it's better that we go somewhere little bit more private"

After grabbing your coffee, you two walk off to a huge oak tree in the middle of the park, there's no one around as it's just started to rain.
"So thanks for coming at such short notice, I just you know really needed to get this off my chest"
"It's ok Hellie, I'll always be around!"
"Well I- I don't know how to say this."
"Then don't."
"What do you mean y/n?"
"You don't have to tell me, I know exactly what you mean."
"But... How you don't even know what I was going to-"
You cut her off by smashing your lips against hers, you put your arm around her neck as she put her hands on your face. You pulled away only to breathe.
"Come here Hellie."
"What you going to do?' she said giggling
"Dance, and I want you to dance with me"
You both start singing Ophelia.
*Together*
_o-ophelia, you've been in my mind girl since the flood!"
you get so into dancing and singing that you don't notice her stop and start to stare at you.
"O-ophelia you'v-, what? what's wrong"
"Nothing y/n, you're so beautiful."
"I-, thank your hellie" you said blushing
"You know Y/n, you didn't actually know what I wanted to say to you."
"What do you mean? did I not guess right?"
"Y/n, I've only known you for a month at the most but it doesn't matter to me you make me feel the happiest I've ever felt in a long time, will you be my secret girlfriend?"
She looked down at the ground in embarrassment, you don't know what to say so stared at the ground too.
"Oh y/n, I'm so sorry have I made you uncomfortable, i-"
For the third time today you cut her off with another kiss.
"Hellie, I can't believe it took you this long to ask, of course I will!!"

You too fell to the ground in laughter, holding hands. It was the most beautiful moment, this was the most safe you ever felt with anyone in a long time. Then Helena flipped herself over so that she was on top of you, she put her hands on your shoulders, and you flinched and screamed.
"Oh my goodness y/n, I'm so sorry, what have I done?!" She said, almost in tears.
"It's ok Helena, you didn't know."
"What didn't I know, did I hurt you?"
" Well yes I- I've got scars there." You said tearing up, looking down at the ground.
" Oh y/n!"
She fell into your arms and started to weep. You cuddled her comfortably, holding her closer than you never held anyone before.
"Why have you got scars there y/n! what happened?!"
"I- I don't want to talk about it."
you could tell that she didn't want to pressure you into telling her but she really wanted to know.
"If you really want to know, I didn't put them there myself, my past relationship didn't go very well."
She looked up at you, staring right into your eyes.
"What did she do to you?" her voice was breaking and there was tears rolling down her cheeks.
"Well actually it wasn't a she, it was he, I- I didn't know I was gay when I first got with him, and well he wasn't very accepting. in his religion he had always been brought up to believe that a man and woman should be together, nothing else. used to make me sit at a desk writing out passages of the Bible  for hours into the night, and then, once I had finished, he'd  throw me onto the bed and as I lay there in silence, he'd check through the passages. If there was any mistakes he take a knife from the kitchen drawer and cut my shoulder."

At your last sentence, she completely broke. She was screaming and weeping, wondering how anyone could ever do that to you.
"Hellie! it's ok I've healed, I'm feeling better!"
"I can't believe...any one...could ever... Do something... Like that."
She said as her breathing calmed down.
"I don't want you driving home by yourself Helena, let me take you back to my place, you can sleep in the spare bedroom, if you don't want to sleep with me."
"Oh..oh ok" she said, still recovering from her weeping outburst.
You carried her back to the car bridal style, sitting her in the front seat comfortably and then getting in the driver's seat yourself.
"Let's get going!"
You drove back to your place which was about half an hour away. Helena had almost completely recovered by then but you still insisted on carrying her inside, you were much taller than her she was very light.
"You can sleep in the spare bedroom if you want I'll get it set up."
"No y/n, I want to sleep with you!"
You smiled, she was so adorable!
You  didn't want this day to end.
