Today was the day, Michael is finally going to see his brother Sullivan again. It was quite bittersweet as he could finally be reunited with Sullivan once again, but leave his poor mother on her own. "Not like I have a choice anyways. At least I get to see Sullivan again." Michael thought.
As he finished packing up and prepared to enter the bus he looked at the window where his mother resides. He waved his hand and said "Bye Ma." He said in a sad tone. "I'll miss you." he then added. He entered the bus and began the journey.
He stared back at the fading image of the hospital until It was merely a dot out in the distance. Looking at the route in his map Michael nearly jumped in shock as how far the croft estate was. "Its going to be a long trip." Michael thought.
Several hours later.....
Michael was listening to the smooth steady rhythm of the tires bumping, looking out into the distance and staring into the fire from his lighter once again. The bus then came to a halt followed by the screech of the tires. "Alright kid this is your stop, the house ya want is about a mile north." the bus driver said. Michael thanked him and strolled along the gravel trail, stopping once in a while to flick out his lighter. Finally coming to a stop after half an hour. A gorgeous house stood right in before him surrounded by the lush forest and a garden.
"God that's an gorgeous house, can't believe I'm going to be staying here for a while." Michael said amazed. He knocked on the door and was greeted by a familiar face, It was Sullivan. Michael couldn't help but smile as he greeted him "Hey Su-" Sullivan cuts him off "I don't want to buy anything. Good day." He prepares to close the door but then Michael yells at him "Wait no Sullivan it's me Michael!" This time Sullivan recognizes him. "Wait hold on. Mike is that you?" Sullivan says as a smile begins to spread on his face. "Yeah its me." "God It's been so fucking long since we've seen each other." Sullivan responds with now a fully developed grin. "Hey Sullivan I need to stay here for a bit." "What for?" Sullivan says confused. Michael proceeded to tell him the series of unfortunate events that led him here. Standing there shocked Sullivan said in a low sympathetic tone "Wow... I'm so sorry Mike. ok you can stay, as long as you can keep a secret" "Sounds good to me."
As Michael entered the house he felt a sense of dread go down his spine. Michael choose to ignore it and decided to find which room he will be sleeping in and suddenly felt the sharp piercing pain on his backside once again. "Maybe a snack will help." He thought. He went looking for the kitchen and passed many rooms each bigger than the last. The living room, game room, hallways, the library. "Why the hell is this place so damn big? Sullivan lives alone. Doesn't he?" He questioned.
"Hey Sullivan, you know were the kitchen is?" "Yes, follow me." Sullivan responded. As the brothers entered the kitchen, Michael heard something clatter behind him. He froze, he slowly looked back and immediately wished he didn't. The creature in front of him resembled a cat, but was unnaturally colored and wearing a hat with a piece of cloth on it's chest. It had unevenly colored eyes with diamond pupils. It was horrifying. Sullivan on the other hand barely even acknowledge the creatures presence.
It then smiled at him, showing off its countless fangs. Michael was petrified. It spoke in a female voice "Why Hello there! You didn't tell me we were having guests Sullivan!" Sullivan then introduced Michael in a plain casual manner. "Why the hell are you so damn calm?!" He thought. Michael then finally built up the courage to say "What are you." The strange entity responded "HI I'm Lucy! and I may or may not take off your head." she joked, having a laugh. Sullivan was infuriated. He was always particularly protective of Michael. He then hissed in a threatening tone "If you lay even one of your twelve fingers on Mike I promise I will chop you into itty bitty pieces and then fuck each of them. Got it?!" "Try as hard as you-" Before she could even finish her sentence Sullivan threw a nearby axe at her that sliced off her arm off clean. "That was a warning." Sullivan said "I like it when you get feisty!" Lucy replied in a playful tone. Sullivan wasn't very amused. He just simply said "Go fuck yourself." "After you." Lucy replied.
She then hoped off the kitchen counter and made her way up the stairs while waving her tail in an elegant manner. Sullivan then looked at Michael who was still frozen. Sullivan simply shrugged and said "Welcome to the family." Michael then came to a realization and exclaimed "Wait there's MORE OF THOSE THINGS!?" "Yup about a dozen in this household." After a moment of silence Michael broke it by simply commenting one word. "Shit."
He yawned and decided to try and get some sleep. Michael made his way to the living room and decided to rest on the couch since there was no better options. "Today is another day." He then closed his eyes and made his way into the void of his dreams.
