Zayn
I was sleeping peacefully when my alarm clock decided to ruin that moment. I pull the covers over my head and try to ignore the sound for as long as possible. ‘ZAYN!’ I heard someone scream. I reach my arm out and slam on the button of the clock. I close my eyes again and turn around in my bed. I frown when I feel my leg colliding with something hard. I open my eyes and I see my youngest sister Safaa laying next to me. How did she get here and how did I not know? ‘Little babe?’ I ask and I gently shake her awake. ‘Zayn,’ she mumbles sleepily. She slowly opens her eyes and looks at me. ‘What are you doing here?’ I ask her confused. ‘I had a nightmare last night and I couldn’t get back to sleep. I came to your room but since I couldn’t wake you up, I just crawled in beside you and snuggled into your chest,’ she explains. ‘Aww little babe,’ I cooed and I hugged her to my chest. ‘You really are a sloth when you sleep, you know that,’ she says playfully. ‘Take that back!’ I say fake offended. ‘Why should I take it back if it is the truth,’ she grins up at me. ‘Safaa, you know what’s going to happen right?’ I ask threatening and I wiggle my fingers. Safaa jumps out of my bed and runs down the hall. ‘MOM!’ she screams and that’s my cue to run after her.
‘Come back here!’ I yell and I run down the stairs. I enter the living room and I go straight for the dining room. In the dining room I see my older sister Doniya and my younger sister Waliyha eating breakfast at the table. ‘Where is she?’ I ask my sisters. ‘Who?’ Waliyha asks innocently. ‘You know who I mean,’ I say. I hear giggles coming from behind the curtains. I smirk evilly and walk towards the curtains. I pull the curtains back and Safaa is standing there. ‘Hi,’ I say. Safaa tries to run away but I grab her arm. Gotcha,’ I say in triumph. ‘Zayn, no,’ she pleads. I start to tickle her hips and she starts to laugh. ‘Zayn stop,’ she says between laughs. ‘Not until you take back what you said,’ I answer back. ‘Fine, you’re not a sloth,’ she finally says and I instantly stop tickling her. I sit down at the table and start to eat my breakfast. ‘What’s this?’ Doniya asks curious. I look at her and she picks up a book that lays beside her on the table. ‘Nothing special. It’s just a book,’ I answer. Doniya opens the book and once I see what it is, I tense up. ‘Give it back!’ I say immediately. ‘This is yours?’ Doniya says surprised and looks up. ‘Yes, can I just have it back?’ I ask and I reach out to grab it. Doniya just holds the book out of my reach. ‘No, I want to see what’s in it,’ she smirks and she opens the book again. Waliyha looks at it too and Safaa looks over Doniya’s shoulder to see it. ‘Zayn, why would you hide this? These are so good!’ Doniya says in amazement. ‘Oh um thanks,’ I say blushing.
‘Is that me?!’ Waliyha gasps and points to the next picture. ‘Yes, do you like it?’ I ask grinning up at her. ‘Are you kidding?! I LOVE IT!’ she squeals. ‘Is this what you do in your free time?’ Doniya asks curious. ‘Whenever I have the time,’ I answer back proudly. Just then our mother Tricia decided to walk in. ‘Get ready for school. You have to leave in fifteen minutes,’ mom said. ‘WHAT?! THAT’S NOT EVEN ENOUGH TIME FOR MY HAIR!’ I yell and I run to the bathroom.
