Sorry it's been so long since the first chapter but I just haven't had many new ideas for the story and I have got more ideas of how I want the story to go so please enjoy this chapter. The next few days were very difficult. Soldiers were coming in and out of the forest every day looking for the soldier I had killed so we made the smart decision and dumped the body in the river. We found out what they were doing in the woods from the other two men, it didn't take them long to crack after seeing what I did to their Lieutenant. Turns out they were here looking for us and they must have told who ever sent them on this mission we are in the forest, but we knew this would happen so we moved camp to the other side of the river it didn't take too long either but we only go to the river to get water now.
Both Leon and I are sitting on the ground talking about Angela "I really like her," I tell Leon, he looks shocked, "Why?" he asks me.
"Because she's so caring, happy and beautiful," I reply,
"How in the world is she caring?" he laughed, "I'm kidding, I'm kidding," he says seeing my face, I wasn't angry, I was shocked; shocked that he had said that about his own sister.
I became suspicious of why he would say that, maybe he was trying to put me off his sister or maybe he was hiding something. "What aren't you telling me?" I ask him,
"N...Nothing" he stammers, "Ok I believe you, Well I would, if I was an idiot," I claim, "Do you think I'm an idiot?" I yell. He thinks before he says anything then replies, "Only a little bit," we both laugh. "Do you think she likes me?" I ask Leon,
"I'm not sure. Maybe," he replies, I smile. Angela gets back shortly after we finish talking, she was a little bit longer than usual, "Do you think she heard what we were talking about?" I ask Leon, he looks at me confused and replies, "No why would you think that?" he questions.
"Because she took longer than normal," I reply, "How do you know that?" he asks.
"Because I time you all in my head and if you're more than twenty minutes longer than usual I'll come and find you," I say. "Or you just count the seconds till you get to see her again," he laughs, "No," I reply, we both start to laugh. Angela comes over and asks "What are you two laughing at?" we both stop laughing for a moment then start again, "What is it?" she asks again confused. "Nothing," we reply in unison and stop laughing, "Ooook then" she responds.
I head over to the river where I see an old friend on the other side of the river, Jasper; he is about my height, he has brown hair, hazel eyes and is a bit bulkier than me. "Anthony? Is that you?" he asks looking up when he hears me, "Yeah Jasper it's me," he jumps in the river and swims over to me. "Anthony, as I live and breathe," he says and we both laugh, "So you hear that your dad and Angela's are sending out troops to find you guys?" he asks.
"Indeed I have," I reply firmly. "Jasper do you want to come back to camp with me?" I ask hoping he will say yes, "Wait you want me to be with you guys?" he counters, "Of course I do, now are you coming or not?" I ask.
"OK then I'll go grab my things and I'll be right over," he answers, I smile and wait for him to return. It doesn't take him long to get back, he crosses the river at the shallower part so his things don't get wet and starts walking over to me. "Let's go then" I say.
We get back to camp only to find Angela and Leon fighting again, "What are you two doing?" I ask, "Just some friendly sparring" Angela replies, "sure it is" I laugh.
"Guys I'd like you to meet Jasper he's an old friend of mine from before the 'cloud' blocked out the sun," I told them, "Nice to meet you Jasper, I'm Angela and this is my brother Leon," she grins. "Hey," Leon mutters. Jasper looks around for a moment, "Thanks for welcoming me here," Jasper began, "This place is so open" he finishes. I nod "Yeah it is" I acknowledge, "but we make do with it for the time being" I add, "In any case if we were to get attacked we'd know before they got here" I continue, Jasper looks at me concerned.
"Why would you get attacked?" he asks, "it's a long story" I reply, "I've got time" he says.
"Not exactly we were gonna ask you to come back to the river with us and swim for a bit" I explain. "No I don't really want to go. I'll stay here," he replies. "Oh umm, OK Leon stay with him please," I ask. "Ok guys you have fun," he replies with a smile and we start to run to the river.
I'm going to tell her, I think to myself. As we get there we hear Leon and Jasper yell "HELP!" we sprint back to them and find them surrounded by men with guns, "There must be about 20 guys surrounding them," I whisper to Angela.
We move around slowly to where our weapons are, we grab them and aim carefully for the men surrounding Jasper and Leon and we loose the arrows and quickly move to the next spot and kill two more before we get spotted. "Over there," one of the soldiers yells, Jasper and Leon make a run for it along with Angela and I but not before I get shot in the shoulder. We stop for a minute to take a breath and realise that they aren't chasing us anymore.
Mystified we start to walk away, slowly and cautiously, "Let's keep walking until we find a better place to stay, one that's not so open," I order, "How about there?" Angela asks pointing at a large closed off area. "Perfect," I reply starting off for the area slowly checking it out. "All clear," I tell them as I start to lay down to go to sleep, Angela comes over and kisses me on the cheek; I blush.
