Harry POV of December's sorting:

We all watched December walk into the Great Hall her eyes glistening in the candlelight; it was amazing. When the sorting hat finished the yearly song I and Hermione waited ( For what felt like forever) for December's name to be called, once it was called she walked up I could see her physically shaking. She even flinched when the sorting hat was placed on her head. Then the sorting hat started off. We all kept our fingers crossed. After minutes of waiting the sorting hat figured it out,

"Yes... Yes Yes!,... I know this will be perfect for you, let it be..... SLYTHERIN!!!"

My mouth dropped open how could she not be in Gryffindor? I look over to Hermione who was obviously crushed, and the twins just looked down at their food they couldn't even look up! Ron even got up and walked out of the Hall! I stayed put, I wanted to be supportive. December got up from the stool and slowly walked over to the Slytherin table, once she got there she looked over to the Gryffindor table and weakly smiled at us. When the feast popped up I just started eating, I ate more than my weight in anything I could reach. The feast disappeared and Head Master Dumbledore told everyone to follow their prefects back to their houses.

I was way too excited to talk to Hagrid that night. I have a question that feels like it's burning its way through my brain.  As if on queue I saw December walking over to the high table telling Hagrid that I needed to speak with him. I went to Hermione and told her,

"I'm feeling a little "sick" tonight, I might need to go on a walk; want to come?"

She happily replied, "Of course Harry! Whatever you need, but right now we have to get back to our dorms. Send me a note when you want to leave. Then meet me in the common room."

"Ok, Mione."

I got up with Hermione and we both went back to the Gryffindor common room together. Talking and joking the whole way. When we got there we saw Ron sitting on the couch pouting about something. (I knew it was about December). Dean looked up at me and Hermione. Then went back to insisting to Ron that it was going to be ok. I stepped in and Dean thanked us that we were back.

"Has he been like this the whole time?" I asked Dean.

"Yes, he won't even tell me what it's about!" Dean replied.

Hermione exclaimed, "Thank you, Dean, we can deal with him now. Have a great first night back!"

"You too! Good luck with Ron." he chuckled.

Hermione sat next to Ron, rubbed circles in his back, and asked him why he was so upset. It was obvious though, Ron fancied December.
