Chapter 4

After I explain to the teacher that I'm new he assigns me a seat and I quickly rush to it as I stare at my feet so I wont make eye contact with anyone cause that would be really awkward.

Halfway through maths I feel something light land on my hand and look down at it, my eyebrows crease in confusion as I see a crumpled up bowl of paper.

I look up at the teacher and make sure he doesn't se the note and carefully open it so I don't tear it.

'Hey! didn't know you were in this class, Wish we could sit together :(' Reads a message neatly written on it, I look around to see who sent it to me. My eyes land on Harry and I blush as I realise he sent it to me and he's looking straight at me. I wave and chuckle lightly as I spin around in my chair just in time as the teacher turns around and nearly spots what I just did.

*LUNCH*
I bit my lip as I look around the spacious cafeteria and quickly line up.

Once I've reached the lady I ask for a apple and water and pay $2.50. Once I've payed I decide to play it safe and study in the library for the pre test that's coming up soon for maths.

*LIBRAY*
I quietly nestle into a bean bag in a corner that's hidden by lots of book shelves and start going through our revision book and jotting down notes as I silently eat my apple.

"Hi! You must be new! My names Maeve but you can call me May" A girl with long straight brown hair and freckles happily says to me. I squeal quietly and drop my book surprised . "Sorry! Didn't mean to scare you" She says with a sheepish grin. I laugh awkwardly and clear my throat embarrassed at the weird sound I made "hi my names Gemma" Her eyes light up instantly and she plops down next to me, crossing her legs. "OMG! Were gonna be BEST FRIENDS!" She squeals (Cutely unlike me) and starts talking about grapes, I have no idea why.

"Argh sorry to interrupt your speech about grapes but why are you talking to me" I ask lightly then add "Also how did you find this spot? It took me a while to find a cozy place" I admit. "Oh I always go here to read! It's like my fav spot to hangout at!" "Oh yeah and I'm talking to you because you look like you need a friend" She says as sincerity pools in her eyes.

Hope filled my chest at making my first friend in high school. "Really?" I asked hesitation filling me (that sounds wrong :'D). "Yeah" she replies as she gracefully gets up and offers her hand to me. Meh what's the worst that could happen? I take it and she helps me up and loops her arm through mine as we walk out of the library.

We end up on the football bleachers laughing at a dirty joke she slipped into our convo. It's amazing how much I found we have in common. For example we both have long hair and bright eyes (Her eyes are vibrant green and I have electric blue/green eyes that change with my mood). I have straight long sandy blonde hair while she has wavy long brown hair with blonde tips. I already felt like I could trust her and know we will be really close.

I feel a pang of guilt as I think about Cass and how I feel like I'm betraying or replacing her (Which I could never do, She is in no way replaceable). I bite my lip as tears fill my eyes as I remember how we would drive into the middle of nowhere *which was about everywhere in Texas* and lay in fields staring at the stars either having really deep conversations or comfortable silence as we thought about how peaceful we felt with no one to disturb us only the sound of swaying grass filling our ears.

I fight back my tears and think about how lucky I am to have Anna (The girl I met in the library) to support me.

I randomly hug Anna as she stills for a second in shock but quickly collects her self and hugs back just as tight. We stay like that for a while just soaking up each other's presence. We part and smile at each other and laugh at our weird mood swings and frown as the bell goes. I hurry to keep up my pace with her chirpy skippy like walking if that makes sense.
