'Sirius?' A thirteen year old girl asked as she peeked through the little hole in the wall that separated their cellars. 'I don't feel too well, do you think it's just the nerves?'
'Yes, probably.' Sirius nodded. 'It's a big thing we're about to do.' They had been planning their escape for weeks, and tomorrow night they would finally break free.
Nova had known Sirius her whole life, they had been brought into Azkaban around the same time. Sirius had been twenty-one, Nova was only a year old. Sirius had taught her everything she knew about the outside world of the prison, but were both still guessing the reason Nova was locked up.
At that moment the food appeared. Bread and water again, no wonder Nova was still so thin. She looked into her goblet and saw her reflection; her dark blond hair was hanging in strands on her face and her grey eyes looked dull. She glanced across the room and looked outside the window, the didn't see much but dark clouds. She still wanted to be out there so badly, and tomorrow it would happen. At least, if the plan worked.

'Ready?' Nova asked the big black dog that had appeared next to her bed. They were now standing in front of the open window with the bars in front of it, ready creep between the bars and jump down, hopefully into the water.
The dog nodded and went to stand in front of her, the rain soaking its fur. He crept between the bars and gave one last reassuring nod, then jumped down. Nova heard a small splash, meaning he made the water. Now it was her turn. She crept between the bars as well, which wasn't hard at all because of the size of her body, took a deep breath and jumped.
Nova felt the wind soar around her, messing up her hair even more, if that was possible. She waited for the moment her body hit the water, getting more and more nervous. What if something went wrong? At last she closed her eyes.
She plunged into the freezing cold water, only feet from where the black dog was floating. She quickly grabbed its back, following the plan. She had never learned how to swim, which made the escape even more risky. She wanted to say something to the dog, but decided to spare her breath for the long journey to the shore.
They had to take small breaks every few minutes, but after a few hours they finally made it. As they crawled onto the shore. Nova couldn't help smiling, she was finally free! The rocks underneath her bare feet were hard, and the grass was so soft and green! It was amazing to see what nature looked like.
She was extremely exhausted, and they still had a pretty long road to go, it wasn't safe to stay here in the open. They set of for a shed in the distance, hoping no one would be there and they could stay the night.
Once they had reached the shed they sat down on the floor and Sirius transformed back into human again. 'That went well' he said. Nova nodded. Sirius then noticed she was shivering from the cold, so he took off his old, ripped and soaking wet jacket and hung it around her shoulders. It didn't really help, but it was very much appreciated by the thirteen year old Nova. Then, they laid down on each others shoulders. This was the first time they could touch each other like this, and it felt amazing. They both felt safe.

The next morning Nova woke up a bit confused, she forgot where she was for a moment. Then, all the memories from last night came back into her mind and she smiled; they were free. Sirius hadn't woken up yet, last night they had fallen asleep in each other's arms. Nova didn't want to get up yet, she loved the comforting warmth of Sirius's body.
But, after a few minutes Sirius woke as well. 'Hey, how do you feel?' He whispered. Nova smiled. 'better than ever.'It was still raining when they set off for a nearby forest to hide in, people had probably noticed already that they were gone, so it wasn't safe to stay out in the open. 'What now?' Nova asked. 'Where could we go?'
'Well, Pettigrew is at Hogwarts. If we want to kill him I suppose we have to go there.'
'We'd have to walk pretty far then. It's all the way in Scotland! Where even is Scotland? How long would that take? And where are we going to get our food from?'
Sirius sighed. 'I don't know, I think we could live off berries and plants we find in the forests. Killing small animals and roast them would work too.'
Nova nodded, not knowing how they would even be able to make it to Hogwarts without getting caught and locked up again. Sirius transformed into his dog form and walked a bit ahead of her, if anyone saw him they wouldn't know it wasn't just a stray dog.
After a while of walking they found coverage by the large trees of the forest. Nova couldn't stop looking at this beautiful phenomenon, those trees were high, and woody, and they had leaves! She had never seen anything like that before. They looked out for every noise, every single leave rustling and every branch breaking made them jump, scared they were people looking for them.
When the night fell, they settled down next to a tree and tried to use some leaves to keep them warm, but the most useful was cuddling up and using each other's body warmth. They found a few berries, and Sirius had killed a small bird to eat. It wasn't much, and it definitely didn't help their hungers, but both were happy to eat something. Nova had never tasted anything more delicious. Both exhausted, they fell asleep on each other's shoulders.

Hi, what do you think of the story?Just setting something straight, when I write something about them falling asleep in each other's arms I don't mean it in a romantic or sexual way. Siriusly, they have a 20 year age difference.
This is a bit of a short chapter, but it's only the first one. I'm planning on writing longer ones in the future.
