'Are we really about to break in right now?' Nova asked. They were standing behind a bush, watching a large house which Sirius believed belonged to a wizarding family.
'No, not we. You are going to break in, and I will help you.' Sirius said.
'Yeah, that. Are you sure they aren't home?'
'We saw them leave, but you need to be quick and find clothes, brush your hair, make yourself look presentable. Then, you go over to the fireplace, you take some of those ashes and say 'leaky cauldron'. Ask how to get to Diagon Alley, I'm sure they would help you. Go to Ollivanders wand shop, buy a wand. Then, go to muggle London. There's this place called Hiller Hotel. It's a cheap place where you will wait for me. I'll find you.'
'Okay. And what if someone recognises me?'
'Just make up a story about where you come from, try to lie your way out.' Sirius said.
Nova nodded. She carefully went up to the house, checking trough the windows to see if someone was inside. It looked like the coast was clear. She turned around to face Sirius. 'How do I pay?'
Sirius hadn't thought of that. 'Try to steal some money, I guess. But you need to go now, before someone comes back.' Nova nodded and turned around again.
Then, she put her foot on a ledge, and climbed her way up to the first floor. She carefully stood up against the next ledge, and slowly scuffed over to a window. She looked down one last time, now seeing a big black dog giving her a reassuring nod. Then, Nova tried to open the window, and to her surprise it wasn't locked and she could slide trough the opened window into the room on the other side.
'Is this what a bedroom looks like?' Nova thought to herself as she looked around the room. It had a large bed, certainly not like the hard wooden bed she had slept on for her whole life. She walked over to what seemed to be a wardrobe. She opened the door and saw a big assortiment of different clothes, all in different colours. She quickly picked grayish trousers and a light brown shirt. Seeing as it wasn't too warm outside, she got a light blue jacket to go with it. It looked pretty neutral, and it was the best Nova could go for since she had never dressed herself before.
She quickly stripped out of her clothes and put on her newly 'borrowed' ones. Technically she didn't steal them, as she was planning to give them back at some point in her life. In about ten years if she was lucky.
Nova couldn't help but look around the room more after the was done with the clothes. There was a desk right in the corner, and it had all sorts of stuff on it. Books, quills, photos. There were pictures on the wall with different girls on it. 'Me and my friends' Nova read. One picture really grabbed her attention. It had four girls, all standing in a uniform with yellow ties with a castle behind them. Hogwarts. The two girls in the middle both had blond hair. On their right was a red haired girl with freckles. The one on the left had a darker skin and puffy, black hair. They all had their arms wrapped around each other.
Underneath the girls were their names written. The two blond girls on the middle were Hannah and Kayleigh. The red haired girl was Susan and the dark haired girl's name was Ayla.
They looked like good friends. Nova wondered what it was like to have friends.
She turned around again and stuffed her old clothes into a corner behind the bed, hoping the owner of the room would not notice this anytime soon.
Nova opened the door to the hallway and stepped into it. Bathroom, I need to find a bathroom. She thought. She opened and closed doors to see what room was inside, and after a while she found a white tiled room with a toilet, a sink, a bath and a shower. This must be the bathroom.
