Chapter 3

Their 24 hours shift had got to an end , Andy was getting dressed when she got a phone call , "hey babe" she said over the phone a smile spread across her face as she heard the voice of her favourite person "hey love , are you still at work?" "Yes I was about to head out why?" "Do you still have one of those fancy dresses?" "Yea I do why?" "Why don't you get ready I'll pick you up in an hour" "alright see you soon" "love you" "love you too" she said but he had already hanged up. She got ready in her bunk , put on some light makeup and the picked her dress between the 5 she had at work, Jack and her had a very busy life and it was hard for them to get out except on their birthdays one of them would take off to be with the other . She got dressed and waited for a bit , her phone chimed and she looked at it "I'm here" , she smiled and went downstairs making sure that b shift was still in the Beanery. The first sight she had when she got down the stairs was Robert leaning on the reception desk looking through some papers but when his eyes laid on Andy she felt herself blush at the look he was giving her but she turned fast to look at her husband "you look gorgeous" "you look very handsome yourself" she said getting down the last few step and going in for a kiss , Robert cleared his throat "sorry captain, ready my beautiful wife?" "Let's go" she said slipping her hand in his as they left the station she took one last glance behind her "you're beautiful" he mouthed , he was sure she didn't saw him as she turned away quickly but she did and she found that more than nice she found it sweet. As her and Jack drove off hands into hands they started talking about a very important subject one that had came up some time earlier in their happy bubble two three weeks after the marriage but not more then that and it wasn't clear where they were standing in that subject as a couple. "Babe?" "Yea?" "We've never continued our conversation on having a family of our own" "like kids Andy? We've talked about this" "yea we said one day when we'll be financially able too I think we are now" "you think that?" "Yea I do" "then let's do it" "really?!" "Why'd you ask if you thought I'd say no?" "I didn't think you were ready Jack" " I am I wasn't when we talked about it at first but I think now is time" "yea?" "Yes!" He said , gladly the light was still red so he gave Andy a quick kiss before continuing their route to their destination.as they made their way into the restaurant Jack told her to wait in the lobby. He went over to the waitrsss told him he had a reservation at 9 , it was late he knew it but with both of them working crazy hours it was harder to get to go out before . He had made sure to keep it a secret from her asking travis to call the best place in town . He knew he had picked the perfect place when he saw Andy's eyes light up seeing the room in front of her , candles everywhere and roses , he rarely toon her out like thst so it certainly was a big surprise. They say down and ordered their drinks and started talking about stuff and mostly nothing. " not that I hate this all of this  Jack but why now? My birthday is in a week and you and I both know we can't afford twice." " you're on a 24 hours rotation for your birthday" "what wait why?" "I don't know earlier I went and asked Sullivan to get the day off to be with you and he time me that you were on rotation and that he was happy to get me off so im off but not you" "oh" she said out loud but her mind went "I'm gonna kill him" . She could tell Jack was mad maybe even jealous just by the way his voice changed but he let it slide to have the best night with her husband. The night was indeed  very nice Andy had taken maybe a little to much liquor and was very tipsy , he picked her up from the car when they got home his brown told him she would've be able to walk to the door without falling he gently let her rest on the sofa and went upstairs to get cleaned up a little took the faster shower he could and joined andy back downstairs to his surprise she was still very awake. He carried her up to their bedroom and helped her change into her pjs and got into bed with her "good night Andrea" "good night" she said as they both drifted to sleep in seconds.
A week later
God she had wished it was just a dream when her alarm went off "ugh" "grumpy head" "I'm not grumpy"  she let out he nudged her a hit "come on sweetheart you gotta go to work" "do I really have too?" "Yes you do love I know it's your birthday in 12 hours but you gotta go" he said giving her a soft kiss on the forehead "alright I'm going" she went downstairs  and got herself some breakfast then went upstairs again got ready dressed gave one last kiss to her husband and leaving for work "love you" "I love you too" she drove to work and went straight into his office when she got there "what the ..." he let out as surprise as she was right now , still half naked probably still wet putting on his pants " why did you put me on rotation?" "Andrea I'm half naked here" "I don't care" "Andrea" "it's Andy" " Andy please" "tell me rob tell me I need to know" "I had a ring Andrea I had a ring" "what?" She said in disbelief
