THE WIND WHISTLED through the brunette girl's ears and blew softly through her hair.

Lynx was sat on a high branch in her favourite tree, knives sat comfortably on her waist and her bow and arrow stashed in the hollow of a not so far away tree.

The sky was a bright blue, contrasting beautifully with the dark green of the trees.

Lynx could see something in the sky. The unknown was slowly getting bigger and bigger. She stood on the tree branch, adjusting her knife belt and searching the sky for a better view.

It was falling. Whatever it was. Lynx could see the colours grey and orange and the coloured blob kept getting closer and closer to the tree line.

Realising it was going to land on the ground, Lynx jumped from tree branch to tree branch and from tree to tree until she arrived at the landing site.

Lynx could see that it was some kind of ship. One of the space pods she had read about in her beloved books.

Slowly she sat down on the tree branch that overlooked the drop ship's landing area.

The sudden opening of the drop ship door caused Lynx to flinch backward. She could see people, they were blinking from the sudden light.

They were also looking at the trees, so she hid on a branch the opposite side of the trunk.

The group looked out of the ship in awe.

There was one girl who was walking down the ramp leading to the opening in the ship. The sunlight reflected off her hair giving it reddish tones. Once the girl jumped onto the ground, she threw her hands in the air and yelled;

"We're back, bitches!"

Like it was some kind of call, the people ran out of the ship. Lynx could now see that they all seemed to be teenagers.

"Sky people" she muttered under her breath.

Lynx wondered if the dark haired girl was their leader. They took commands from her, but that doesn't necessarily mean she's the commander.
