Ash still couldn't digest how much his rival changed. Gary, the one everyone fawned over, the one who challenged him despite being a professor. The one Ash respected, as well as hated. He couldn't believe how far he sunk, adulthood really does suck. Ash felt horrible, having been gone for so long, leaving almost no trace of him left. He honestly only contacted his mother, even then he was so busy he barely did. He wanted to help Gary, he really did, but what could he do?

" Pika...." Pikachu went, down. He knew what Pikachu wanted, they both wanted the same thing, but they couldn't. Gary and Ash weren't close..not anymore..but why didn't his body listen? His two feet stopped, his hands clenching, he gritted his teeth, then his legs finally moved. Back towards Gary. Pikachu let out a surprised noise, their claws hanging on more tightly. Ash went back to the lab, busting the door down. Ash saw Gary jump 10 feet into the air, a bewildered look.

" Gary motherfucking Oak, I'm helping you get you life back together! Even if you go back to a arrogant asswipe!" Ash declared, Umbreon face lit up at his words, having been very concerned for their master.

" Wha- what?" He whispered out, Ash went over and grasped his collar behind his neck. Literally dragging him out, Gary let out squeaks of surprise. Ash charged for his mother's house, knowing she'd at least make him presentable. It didn't take long for Gary to give up, and just let Ash's warm hand drag him. Ash opened the door to his mother's house, dragging Gary still. She gasped, not having seen him for a very long time.

" Gary! Oh my sweet Arcues!" She went up to Gary, seeing the eye bags. "You are taking a bath now!" Delilah demanded,

" But-" Gary begone,

" No buts!" Ash and Delilah said together. Ash once more dragged Gary to their bathroom, pushing him in.

" Get in the shower, I'll get some clothes for you!" Ash ordered, surprising Gary. He sighed, hearing the ravennette's footsteps. He undressed, deciding not to fight. He slowly took his belt off, his mind going crazy. Eventually he started the shower,

" You better take a warm one young man!" He heard Delilah yell. He softly chuckled, regretting it as his throat became sore. He opened his mouth, tilting his head up, allowing water from the head to enter. He drank the water, it soothing his throat. He became embarrassed, as the water felt foreign. He heard the door open,

" Here, they're my clothes. We're washing every single piece of clothing you own." Ash said, surprisingly casually. Gary's spine tingled at the thought of wearing Ash's clothing. He heard the door close, with a embarrassing amount of effort, he cleaned himself. Disgusted with the amount of filth coming off, seeing dandruff falling like dandelion seeds. He grimaced, even more so disappointed with himself. He washed himself until he was squeaky clean, hair drenched but clean. Water swiftly falling off his chest. He let out a satisfied sigh, his breath showing from the amount of humid water in the air. He dried off with a towel set out for him, drying his hair as well as he could. Before slipping on the dark gray shirt and blue shorts given to him. They were comfortable, and smelled far too much like Ash. Gary couldn't stop himself from bunching it together and smelling it. The scent wrapping around like a blanket. He opened the door, steam following close after. He smelled much better, and his dark mood lighten. Ash noticed him, coming over with a razor. Gary sighed, going back to the bathroom, Ash following. Ash made Gary face him. Apparently, Ash didn't trust Gary with the razor. He put the cream on his face, it was cold and made Gary shudder. Ash went slow and gentle as he made a straight line done, the shaving cream and hair going with it. Ash continued this, until every bit of stable he had was gone. His handsome, clean face returning.

" There. Now, go to my old room and sleep." Ash ordered, Gary stood silent. Ash sighed, gently grabbing Gary's hand and leading him to the room. Gary wanted Ash's hand to continue warming his. Loving how it felt perfect in his hand. But the feeling eventually ended, and Ash gently lead him to his bed. Gary laid down, his now clean body making him feel more comfortable. His eye lids felt heavy as he closed them, enjoying the fact Ash was the last thing he saw.
