Ash sighed, closing the door quietly. As he started cleaning any mess, washing the razor filled with foam and hair. With a grunt he made back to his mother.

" I can't believe he was this bad...I thought he was taking care of himself.." Delilah, Ash's mother muttered. Eyes lowered in sadness. Ash gave a sad smile,

" You're far too bright for this world, mom." Ash sighed. His mother smiled,

" I'd be even brighter if you visited more!" She snapped, Ash gave a nervous laugh. Silently agreeing with his mother, the mood once more went sad. " Arceus, I didn't know he was this bad..I..didn't think he'd take the professor's death this bad..." Delilah muttered somberly. Ash looked at him mother in empathy, sighing I  agreement.

" I should've come back earlier..." he muttered, he took out a pokeball, releasing the beast within it. Out came a bipedal pokemon, blue and gray with spikes out its arm. It's bright red eyes gazing at respect at Ash. " Lucario, I want you to collect Gary's pokemon and take care of any other pokemon in his care." Ash ordered the aura pokemon, he nodded using said aura to say one thing. Yes, master. Ash grumbled, having told the pokemon many times to not call him master. But the pokemon only smirked as he walked back to the door. Delilah laughed softly,

" My, your pokemon are so like you Ashy." His mother laughed once more. Ash sighed, a soft smile on he face. He called out another pokemon, Lycanrock. The pokemon attacked him in cuddles, rubbing his neck aggressively against their trainer. Before listening to Ash.

" Go make sure Gary's okay." He said, the wolf like pokemon nodded, going to his trainer's old bedroom. The pokemon saw Gary twist and turn frightened. He whimpered, jumping onto the bed. He licked the man's face as tears rolled down, Gary seemed to calm down. Lycanrock laid next to him, keeping him warm.

Gary groaned as he set up, startled by the weight. He saw Umbreon, and a Lycanrock on his lap, and Blastoise beside the bed. He blinked twice, eventually concluding that the Lycanrock was Ash's special dusk form one. He pet Umbreon, who stretched, Cuddling near Gary. He heard a huff, and saw Lycanrock get on his stomach, and yawn. He stared at Gary. His bright green eyes burning holes into Gary. Then Lycanrock jumped, aggressively rubbing his neck against Gary, surprising Umbreon.

" ACK! You really are Ash's pokemon!" Gary said, panicked, then it turned into soft laughing, then full on giggles. Gary could feel the love and concern, despite this being the first time they've met. The dog like pokemon began to start licking the other, enhancing the giggles. Gary felt weird, the unusual feeling of laughing to tears felt foreign. He heard a chuckle, and looked to see Ash smiling brightly. The Lycanrock gave Gary one last dog kiss before going to their trainer, tail wagging. Ash bent down and gave them gentle pets, the wolf eating it up. Gary looked down, red all over, embarrassed.

"Been awhile since I've heard you laugh, y'know actually laugh. Not an arrogant, 'I'm better than you' one." Ash said, his voice seeming...lighter. it surprised Ash how happy he was to see Gary happy. Ash went and sat on the edge of the bed, placing a hand on Gary's cheek. Making his face turn even red, glad it already was. The familiar warm calloused hand warming his red face in a way that Gary enjoyed. He couldn't help but close his eyes, "You look a whole lot better. More like your old self." Ash booped Gary's nose as he took his hand away. Gary blinked, then looked down. Umbreon smirked, turning her head away, letting out a sigh.

"W-what was that for!" Gary questioned, Ash laughed as he left. Gary let out a sigh he didn't know he was holding, his face burning. Umbreon gave him a lick on the cheek, Gary started petting the evolution of Eevee. Gary then stared at the wall, Umbreon got the message, curling up on his lap. Falling asleep, Gary couldn't stop the thoughts that dominant his mind. He thoughts back, now freshly cleaned, and having enough sleep, he could think! Something he hadn't been able to do for such a long time..and yet..why did Ash bother? Gary had been such a horrible person for so long..but, Gary was grateful, he was moving on.
