Chapter IV- A Talking Purple Snake?!?!

After a while of looking around and getting comfortable  in my new room, my stomach started to growl meaning that i should probably eat soon."Maybe i should wait until Miss.Reza comes to get me.....AWWWWEEEEEEE but I'm really hungry.'"Then you should probably go eat something". I heard a voice say, but I couldn't see where it was coming from. "Uhhhh, who's there?"Out then slithered a medium sized purple snake."''Me that's who." I shrieked out of confusion."Jeez,can you be any louder."''I just stared at the talking purple snake, blinking a few times."Reza was right, you do have a staring problem." I then gave the snake a look of confusion."''You know Miss.Reza"?" Of course I know her, first of all she's the Ruler of Evergard so everyone in this kingdom knows who she is, and second of all I'm her royal companion,Nio". I felt so confused.''''Royal companion?" I asked." Yes,royal companion do you have a problem with it?"he snapped back at me."Now now Nio no need to be so rude.''''I then looked at the door where I saw Miss.Reza standing.''"oh...hey Reza, i didn't know you were standing there heh..." He let out a nervous chuckle."Well now you know,anyways come along Eden our supper is ready and I would like to learn more about you." I stood up and followed her out of the room."Reza wait for me!" I heard Nio call while trying to slither up to us.We passed through hallways and different doorways before entering the dining area.It had a long table with chairs all around and plates."Come sit child."Reza said.I sat down at on one of the chairs across from her. Just as she was about to speak when two men in green armor that was wrapped with vines and vegetation stood at the end of the table."Good afternoon my Queen." one of the men said."Good afternoon gentlemen what is it that you need?" she said calmly without turning her head towards them"We heard word of where the Earth necklace might be located".She seemed to lose that calmness and turned her head towards the men."Really, and where would that location be"?" Were not completely sure if it's true but somewhere in a small village called Oarswood."Oarswood? Isn't that close to Umbra".I was confused and hungry so i decided to say something."Miss.Reza?" she looked back to me."Oh yes, lets eat, guards we will discuss this matter later". "But my que..." I said later"She gave them a stern look and they respected her wishes and walked out of the dining hall."What was that about?" I asked curiously. "No need to worry, it's not important." I could tell she was lying.''"Really because it looked important".She looked at me." u..uh but if you say it isn't it probably isn't heh..."I said nervously.She's really intimidating."Well enough about me, tell me more about yourself Eden". I stopped eating my broccoli soup and looked up at her."well,where should i start"?"How about where you're from" A cloud of sadness washed over me."Uhhh well..." If you're not comfortable then you don't have to say anything child."She then continued to eat her food." My village's name was Norfall and I'm not exactly sure what happened, but it was destroyed". She looked at me as if she wanted me to keep talking. So I did."The day it happened I left my house that morning to go pick flowers for my Mommy and Daddy.I was out in the woods for almost the whole day and when i returned...everything was in ruin". I was trying my best to not cry."I see, did you have any friends there?" I picked up my fork and started to fiddle with it."Yea..there were 3 other girls i would usually hang out with, but i don't think they made it."what were their names?" she asked. "Jamie was the oldest,she had long brown hair and was really tough. She always talked about when she was older she wanted to be a knight."That's wonderful, who were the other two"?"Leandra was the same age as me, she would always make jokes and would stand up for me when i got into trouble". "She seems like an angel". "And Ally, she was very shy but very happy". "Those were the only other kids in the whole village?"Well those were the only kids i would hang around." I see...What about your parents"? I put my head down looking at my now empty bowl."I...I don't think they made it either."what were their names?I lifted my head up."Shea and Marcel Verlore''. She dropped her fork on her plate which made a clunk sound and I looked at her in confusion."Sh.... Shea"? She said"Uhh...yeah have you heard that name before?''She looked at me wide eyed". "Miss.Reza is there something wrong?'"Your Shea's daughter?"She looked stunned." Uh yes...Are you okay"? " Oh my Goodness." I was still very confused."Why don't you just tell her Reza".Nio said as he slithered up onto her shoulder."Tell me what?"I said curiously."It's not the right time Nio"She told the purple snake"Not the right time for what?" I said standing up.She then did the same."I think it's time we all go to bed". She said walking out of the dining hall."What was that about?"I asked Nio."Don't look at me." he said, slithering after Reza.
