Chapter 3 Remember the Burn

"Sexy," I mumbled. My eyes widened when I realized what I said, "I mean Scotty, my cute big brother." I quickly stated as I looked at the fine man before me. I have got to stop being such an idiot, "Yup his name is Scotty and he likes to go shopping."

Holy crap, really did I just say that I'm such a dork. The hottie looked at me like if I was stupid before turning to my brother and Stiles. Well that's just rude I thought as Midnight began to pull me closer to him.

"What are you doing here? Huh? This is private property." Oh, he's mad. Why is his voice doing this to me? My body is shacking and my stomach was doing flips.

"Uh, sorry man, we didn't know." Stiles said looking at me worried.

Scott continued, "Yeah, we were just looking for something, but forget it." I knew my brother can feel the inner struggle I was having with myself. "Scotty No we can't forget it that's our inhaler." I said trying to relax his presence was really affecting me.

Just as I said that the sexy man pulled something out of his pocket and threw it to my brother, Scott caught it was our inhaler.

I continued to look up at him analyzing him, he looked familiar but I couldn't place it, I blushed seeing him stare at me only to realize he wasn't looking at me but the burn skin that peeked out from my shorts and stopped at my knee. I sighed quickly pulling my shorts down to try to cover them. He gazed at me for a moment before walking away swiftly, I whimpered watching him leave, yet that didn't stop me from admiring his toned back and nice ass. I slapped myself trying to clean my brain from these dirty thoughts.

"Alright, I have to get to work and get Serena home." Scott said and I nodded, still thinking about the man that just left.

"Guys that was Derek Hale," Stiles exclaimed. "You remember him, right? He's only like a few years older than us." My eyes widened no it couldn't be Derek he was back that means Laura's here too, I need to find them. He didn't even recognize me he must think that I died in the fire; I have to talk to him.

"I remember his sister Laura and Uncle Peter used to babysit me, he changed a lot from the last time I saw him." I said staring that place he was once standing at.

"His family; they all burned to death in a fire like ten years ago." Stiles said

"I know I was inside the house when it happened remember." I stated looking down at the floor. "I'm so sorry... I" Stiles began but Scott stopped him. "It's alright Stiles just drop it okay." Stiles nodded looking at me.

"Wonder what he's doing back." Scott pondered; maybe he was here to check on Uncle Peter I thought. Stiles just shrugged and then smiled deviously at me, "Smooth, back there." He said laughing.

"Shut up," I replied punching his arm and he whimpered. What a Sissy boy...

I looked at Scott thinking of a way to get him to let me see Derek, biting my lip an idea came to me. I would tell him that I wanted to go out on a walk on the trail. "Scotty" I called seeing as he was a few steps away from us. "Do you think it would be okay if I go on a walk on the trail it's really nice outside. I promise I'll be safe I have Midnight please please" I said begging him, he sighed running his fingers through his hair before turning around to look at me. "Yeah sure I guess just be careful I don't want you to get hurt now." He said to me, I smiled jumping happily running to hug him. "Thank you thank you" I repeated over and over. "Okay I get it now go before I change my mind." I laughed giving him a kiss on his cheek before turning around walking into the forest leaving my big brother with Stiles.
I let Midnight led me through the forest walking around I smiled touching the trees remembering the old days when I used to run around in the forest playing hide and seek with Uncle Peter and Laura. I jumped when the Hale house was finally in my sight I couldn't wait to see Laura I missed her so much. I took off running with Midnight to the house giggling throwing the door open screaming "Laura! Laura!" Looking around the house was still the same as last time I saw it. Running upstairs towards Laura's old room I tripping on the last step I held onto Midnights harness. Midnight grabbed onto the rail with here teeth trying to stop me from falling. I held on tight pulling myself up, "Thanks Midnight you saved me." I said petting her, she barked wagging her stub little tail. I continued going up the steps turning left pushing open the burnt wooden door. "Laura" I called stepping into he old room, she wasn't here. I started crying "Laura, Laura it's me remember please come out I missed you so much. It's Serena please Laura." There was only silence as I through myself onto what was left of her bed. "Midnight" I called her onto the bed hugging her, burying my face her fur I cried. "Why, why its all my fault, if I hadn't bitched at Kate maybe she wouldn't have done this."
I stayed like that for a while never noticing the electric blue eyes staring at me.
Derek's POV
I watching her scream and cry Laura's name I didn't remember her until she said her name. It was Serena the little girl that Peter and Laura used to babysit, I thought she died in the fire.
I see the burn marks left behind on her thighs from the fire in the shorts she was wearing, how did she survive I thought. Looking at her cry on what was left of my sister's bed I felt my wolf stir. My body began to shift on its own, what hell was happening. My wolf was going crazy it was only when I sniffed the air that I realized why. She was my mate, the scent of feminine blood reached my nose, she was menstrating. The sweet scent called to my wolf, breathing in I approached her. Her dog was the first to notice me, the dog growled jumping from the bed, I growled back. The dog let out a whine only to look back at Serena and continued growling and barking. Serena woke up "What is it baby girl." She said looking around only for her eyes to land on me, she covered her mouth in shock and fresh tears started to roll down her beautiful face.
"If you hurt me I swear my brother will kick your ass!" She shouted grabbing her dog, I snarled moving towards her.
Mine my wolf screamed, they next thing she did surprised me. She lifted her shirt turning to look at her lower back, she dug her fingers into it. She let out a scream turning to let me see what she did, there was a faint bite mark and she was digging her nails into it. "My big brother will be here any minute." She said removing her fingers that were now covered in blood. Her dog backed down as I moved to grab her, wrapping my arms around her I sniffed her. Realizing her brother was the one that got bit by the alpha the other night. Yet that didn't explain the faint scent of wolf on her and her own bite mark. She didn't move as I nuzzled her neck, I began to shift back to normal looking at her. "Derek" She whispered staring at me, her bloody hand touched my cheek. "I missed you guys" She said hugging me, "I've been taking care of uncle Peter for you"
I nodded grabbing he bloody hand bring it to my lips. I licked the blood of her tiny hands till there was nothing left, she stayed quite just watching me.
"I thought you died" I said holding her, she blinked looking up at me "I did the little girl I was died the day that skank decided that my attitude towards her was wrong. She decided to teach me a lesson by lighting me on fire with the rest of your family." She said looking away she continued "If I hadn't threatened her to say away from you and the rest of your family maybe she wouldn't have done this maybe I would still have vision in my left eye."
I grabbed her face forcing her to look at me "This is not your fault, If I hadn't trusted her my family would still be here." I replied, "What are you?" She asked moving back a little, "I'm a werewolf like the rest on my family was only some of them were human but most of us were wolves." I responded, she looked away saying "Ooo that makes since now, I guess that's why Uncle Peter could always find me when we played hide and seek." I grinned chuckling "Yea"
Suddenly her phone rang she pushed me away putting her hand in her pocket. She pulled out her phone answering it "Hello" She said, "Are you okay my bite mark is hurting and I know I didn't do anything to make it hurt so it must be you that's hurt." The voice said, I assumed it was her brother. "Scotty I'm okay I just tripped and landed in a root and it dug into the bite." She replied looking up at me, "Sere what have I told you about being careful, I knew I shouldn't have let you go for that walk."
She groaned "Scotty stop I'm fine, sometimes a girl just needs time to herself. I'll be fine"
"You better be remember when you get hurt I get hurt so be careful okay. I have one job to do and it's taking care of my little sis." Scott responded, she rolled her eyes replying "I'm not little your only older than me by 3 minutes."
"So what your still my baby sister and it's my job" He replied, "Yea yea I get it big brother" She said sighing, "I'll be home soon okay I love you. Bye"

"I love you to sis, Bye" He said hanging up the phone. She turned back to look at me my wolf howled in pain at the sight of her ghostly white left eye, this was my fault. She blinked asking the one question I hope she wouldn't. "Where is Laura?"
I growled baring my teeth at her, she whimpered backing up but I didn't let her. "I found her ripped in half!" I shouted fighting the shift. Her eyes widened as tears flooded her eyes. "What... How?" She said crying dropping to the floor. I dropped to my knees and held her letting her cry into my shoulder. "The Alpha" was all I said in her ear, she looked up at me with anger in her eyes grinding her teeth. "We are going to kill it, if it's the last thing we do. I don't give a shit who it is it's going to die if I have to die trying" She said in a serious and murderous tone,her eyes had darkened with a hateful glint.
I pulled her close crushing her to my chest replying "Yes, yes we are."
"Ooo Laura I'm so sorry" She whispered cluching my shirt.
I purred in her ear trying to calm her, if only we knew who the Alpha was.
