The Reason Why JOE Flirts With So Many Girls

SK8 THE INFINITY SPOILERS ALL EPSODES!

Disclaimer- I can in no way shape or form write essays so this is basically just me rambling on about my current hyper fixation.

In this essay, I will be covering why Kojiro Nanjo or Joel those at 'S', flirts with so many girls and the reasons behind it.

At many points throughout the series, were that JOE is definitely a ladies' man, or so we think *smirks*. When JOE is first introduced into the story, he is presented as a muscular and handsome chef, with a secret life as a skater.

When he is at his restaurant, he wears a sophisticated outfit look presentable in front of customers. But when you see him skating at 'S', he is topless to show off his muscles to the ladies, and maybe one other *smirk*. His outfit for 'S' definitely shows that he is the flirty type. But is there a deeper meaning behind it?

In the first episode, we meet the famous calligrapher, Kaoru Sakurayashiki. Or when he is at 'S', Cherry Blossom. In later episodes, it is easy to see that JOE and Cherry defiantly had some past. From them arguing like a married couple or JOE using Cherry's money to pay for the other skaters. But how much past do they really have? *smirks*

In episode 9, we found out that both Cherry, JOE and AD*M used to skate and hang out together in their high school years. In the flashbacks you can definitely see that Cherry had a crush on the wannabe Hisoka, or at least looked up to him.

But if you look closer, you can see JOE worried for Cherry and constantly giving him sneaky side glances.

I doubt that JOE came to terms with those feelings he got for Cherry because of AD*M (see he is the root of all evil). So, he suppressed his feelings for Cherry to what is now.

Other evidence to back up the fact that JOE has a crush on Cherry, is in the beach episode (episode 6). In the is episode, Miya tricks him

As well, in episode 9, we also see them calling each other by their first names a lot. And that gives off pretty gay vibes if you ask me.

After the credits of episode 9, we also see that Cherry snuck out of the hospital to go to JOE's resultant, which is also his safe space. When Cherry gets there, we see that JOE already had 2 glasses and a wine bottle out, as if he knew that Cherry would sneak out of the hospital to see him.

And once Cherry had fallen asleep, we see JOE talking to him and looking at him in a very gay way in my opinion.

I think that the reason JOE does not show his true feelings for Cherry is because he doesn't want to pile more stress onto Cherry. He doesn't want to wreck the relationship that he already ahs with Cherry, who is obviously still in love with a flaming pile of trash.

And when Cherry gets hit in the face with AD*M's skateboard, it most likely broke Cherry's heart. As it was affectively Cherry being rejected by AD*M

So, though JOE definitely wants to get with Cherry, he would prefer Cherry being happy, again showing his love.

So, he suppresses his feelings for Cherry.

Other evidence to back up the fact that JOE has a crush on Cherry, is in the beach episode (episode 6). In the is episode, Miya tricks him

into thinking Cherry was a woman and he was most definitely simping for him.

The wheels on his skateboard are also oddly shaped. Almost has if they are in the shape of a cherry blossom flower.

And we can't ignore the way JOE carried Cherry at the start of episode 10.

The way that JOE and Cherry seem to show their love seems to be by arguing and fighting, which puts them in the trope of "we look like enemies to loves but actually we are childhood best friends, so now act like a married couple".

Suppressing his feelings for Cherry is definitely hurting him, so he deals with that by arguing ad fighting with Cherry. But that is not the only way that he deals with it.

JOE flirts with so many girls to deal with and hide his feelings for Cherry.

So, in conclusion, JOE flirts with so many girls to hide his feelings for Cherry and possibly be trying to make Cherry jealous in doing so. So, JOE should either confess his feelings for Cherry or find better coping mechanisms.
