⊱His Angel⊰
The next morning came faster than she liked. She groaned as she turned off her alarm. The good thing about her job is that she had to get there midday. She laid in her warm bed for five more minutes before she got up. She hated when she had to leave the comfort and the warmth her of her bed.
She walked to the bathroom and splashed some cold water on her face, trying to wake up. Then, she brushed her teeth before she exited the bathroom. She opened her wardrobe and pulled her black cargo pants with a silver chain around the pocket, then she put on her black neck turle shirt, inside her pants.
After putting on her belt, she went to the bathroom and applied some mascara on her long natural lashes before putting eyeliner on, she put a little bit of lip gloss on her lips before she looked satisfied at her work. She put on her silver earrings on her six piercings before she wore her rings.
She put on deodorant and her favorite cologne before she went to the kitchen. She almost screamed at the sight of a sleeping man on her couch. She had forgotten about him.
She walked in the kitchen and started fixing breakfast. She made some pancakes since she had time till she had to leave for work. She cut the strawberries in slices and put them on the side, then she grabbed the Nutella and put it on two pancakes and strawberries on the side.
She preferred her pancakes with Nutella instead of syrup. She put some pancakes on another plate but didn't put any topings since she didn't know if he liked them like that or maybe if he was allergic to strawberries. She placed the plates on the small table in the middle of the kitchen, along with her coffee.
She walked out of the kitchen and made her way to the living room, wanting to see if he was awake. She stepped in the room and noticed he was still passed out. She sighed, feeling a little disappointed, and moved closer to him.
He looked so peaceful. She furrowed her eyebrows in confusion when she noticed the sweat rolling down his forehead. He was starting to breath heavily and clutched the towel tightly in his hand, his knuckles turning white.
She moved to his side and put her hand on his forehead, gasping once she felt how hot it was. She hurriedly went to grab a towel before she dipped it in the cold water. She placed it on his forehead, hopping it would make him feel better and cool him down.
He was burning for at least two more hours but he didn't wake up. It was time for her to head to work but she didn't have the heart to leave him behind like that. She called in sick and stayed home for the day.
She took care of him for the rest of the day. Fortunately, she remembered to eat some food even thought her growling stomach wouldn't let her forget it. She felt bad for this man. He seemed to have gone through something horrible and now he was sick, too.
The sound of her ring tone took her out of her thoughts. She covered his forehead with the towel once again before she went to grab her phone. It was in her bedroom. She looked at the ID and felt a smile forming on her lips and a spark of hope raise in her.
"Hello?" She answered.
"Hello Miss.Hart, I'm sorry for calling you at this time but I wanted to inform you that the placed has been replaced. Thank you for applying to our company. Have a great day." The hight pitched female voice said before she hung up on her.
She blinked and sighed disappointed. She thought they would take her for the job. She hoped wanted to quit from her current job at the restaurant, since they were treating her awful.
Her income would be much better then the one she took now. She shook away those thoughts and got up from her bed. She wouldn't give up until she had a better job. She smiled to herself, starting to feel confident in herself, and returned back to the sick man.
She halt in her step as her eyes landed on the man. He was sitting up, looking straight at the wall in front of him. She stayed quiet and tried to stay calm. His head snapped at her direction once he heard footsteps approaching him.
She gasped, her eyes widening in shock as her eyes connectedwith his round eyes. His eyes were a beautiful green color as If he took all the colors of the nature and put them in his eyes. She was mesmerized by his eyes, feeling as if they were pulling her to him. She noticed the hot tears running down his cheeks as a panicked expression was written on his flawless face.
"Please, help me, I don't want to do it. They will kill me. Please." He pleaded with his hoarse deep voice, seeming as if he was talking to her but he was in a trace. She tried to calm her beating heart as she took slow steps towards him, not wanting to scare him away.
He seemed to become more panicked as she moved closer.
"Sh, it's ok. You are safe." She spoke softly, her eyes staring at him with warmth. He looked like he couldn't understand a word that was coming out of her mouth. She tried to soothe him, speaking calmly and softly to him.
After a couple of minutes, he calmed down a little bit, his breathing going back to normal. She signed in relief and closed her eyes for a second.
Suddenly, she felt a rought hand grab her small hand. She snapped her eyes open and felt herself being pulled into his lap. He wrapped his hands around her waist tightly and buried his face in the crook of his neck. His body was shaking, looking petrified.
Once she woke up from her shock, she felt her heart break and tears forming in her eyes. She wrapped her left arm around his shoulder while her right arm was caressing his soft hair.
His tears stained her shirt but she didn't really care. She tried to make him feel safe. She wanted him to know that she was not a threat to him. A few minutes passed with them staying like that. He had gone back to sleep the second he felt her hands touch him. He was emotionally and physically exhausted.
She laid him back on the couch and cleaned the sweat from his forehead. She pulled the blanket over his chest and stayed for a while with him. She didn't even notice that it was dark outside. She had spent her whole day taking care of him. It was as if he was a child that just went out in the world and he was horrified.
Later on, she went to her room where she laid on her bed, feeling tired. It was a eventful day. She looked at the ceiling and the picture of his scared face popped up in her mind. She was convinced that someone was trying to kill him but the question was who and why. She fell asleep with those unanswered questions througgt her head.
