Examining the surroundings my eyes filled terror into my heart.

What would happen if I don't find my right path?

Will I not be able to see my parents again?

Will I survive this dense forest?

Deep thoughts filled my mind, making it more difficult for me to stand on my foot.

I fell to my knees, tears running down my face, I was lost in life.

Courageously, I stood up and wiped the tears off my face. As I gathered my belongings which were scattered on the ground, I looked around in order to find a path. But there was nothing except trees and bushes and huge boulders and a lamp post.

"Lamp post?" I asked myself. " What does a lamp post do in the middle of nowhere?"

In order to take a closer look at the lamp post, I paced slowly towards it.

I was close enough to the lamp that I felt the heat of the fire, another lamp  post lit up a few yards away from where I stood.

That's it!

The lamps were showing my path.

I gathered all my belongings that scattered on the ground when I came out of the orb. Packing them up I surveyed my surroundings again and ran towards the lamp post. I was close to the lamp when another lamp lit up on my right. I followed the lamp trails until I reached the fifth post.

It was then I heard the sound of crackling leaves invading my ears as I ran towards the lamp.

Immediately, I closed my eyes and froze like a statue beneath the lamp post.

I wanted to look back. But something held me from it — the feeling that danger is approaching.

A while later another sound accompanied the sound of crackling leaves — the sound of galloping horses!

Courageously, I turned back and opened my eyes. I was standing in pitch dark. The fire in the lamp has gone out.

Before I could adjust my eyes to the darkness, a pair of hands grabbed me from behind and pulled me off my feet. I landed on a horse-back like surface. I also felt  the strong beats of the hind legs of a horse. I was being carried away by a horse. I thought.

"David, are you alright?" I heard someone say in front of me.

"Yeah I am fine." I replied not knowing who I was talking to.

"You are late!" I heard the voice exclaim.

"Yes," I replied, "By the way who are you?"

"You met me a while ago." The voice claimed.

Before I could ask another question an arrow came right towards us. It had shimmering red stripes engraved into it's shaft, making it visible in the dark.

But we avoided it easily. However, a roar of a huge creature sounded not far behind us as the arrow struck its body.

"The Night Riders." I heard the voice say as I looked behind to see the creature.

"What was that?" I asked.

"It's a werewolf, " He said, reducing his speed. "It was on my trail from the time I disapparated from your house."

"But why?"

"Because ——— " I could not hear the rest of his sentence, because of the sound of the blowing of a horn, which echoed through the dense forest.

"What was that?" I asked in alarm.

"It's the sound of victory!" The voice exclaimed. "The elves had brought the werewolf to its end."

"Elves?"

"Yes, the elves protect the forest from the Devourators who otherwise would be crawling through this forest." The voice explained.

"We should escape the forest while we can!" He said and galloped so hard, making it difficult for me to stay on his back.

After a while, he slowed down. "Be quiet," he said.

"Why?" I asked.

"Shh!"

It was then I saw that we were surrounded by men who were heavily armed.

As I examined them I found that they had bows and arrows with them. I could see them shimmer like the one  that we saw gliding through the dark a while ago. They also had pointy ears ——  Elves!

"Who are you?" One of them, whom I recognised as the leader, asked.

"I am Stewart from Cloxford school of witchcraft and wizardry, my Lord!" He said as he bowed before the elf leader

"Professor!" I asked in surprise. "Is that you?"

"And who's that on your back?" The elf asked.

"That is David Crimson." Professor Stewart replied.

Upon hearing my name, everyone came to alert.

The guards took out their arrows and held them in their bows.
