WHAT IF...

Visto - Visa

Carina was now home waiting for Maya to come home. Her head was full of insecurities. What if my Visa won't be re-established? And what will happen in three years? In three years, it'll expire again and I won't be able to have a new one. The only thing to do is... She looked at her right ring finger but her thoughts were ceased by the sound of the door opening.

"Hello, Princess" Maya said a little too loudly with a huge smile on her face

"Princess?! Since when?" Carina replied laughing a little

"What?! don't you like it?" Maya said taking away her mask an taking off her jacket

"It's just so girly... My boyfriends used to call me Princess when I was a teen"

"Boyfriends, uh?! Well, we need to admit that you're not that young anymore. You still are girly!"

"you're calling me old?! How dare you?!" asked Car laughing

"oh, no, you're my little lady!" said Maya with a childlike voice

"I'm telling you... I'm pretty offended" Car said pretending to be

"Well, if you follow me into the shower I'll make it up to you" Maya smirked and emptied Carina's glass of wine

A little while later they were again on the couch watching a film. They were cuddling and Carina couldn't help but think that she definitely felt home in her lover's arms. She started to think about everything they had been through together. She didn't want an expiring date for her love story. She didn't want to rush things, because she knew that she would have scared Maya away. While the movie was going on, Car started to play with Maya's fingers. Their hands were a perfect fit, but she couldn't understand why Maya had those big hands being so little.

Maya was completely relaxed after a long shift. She didn't smell like smoke anymore, and she had enough endorphins in her body to stay awake all night. She was distracted by Carina playing with her right hand fingers. Carina had her back on Maya's chest so they couldn't see in each other's eyes, but Maya knew that Carina was thinking about something.

Carina interweaved their fingers together and places a soft kiss on Maya's hand.

"What is it?" Maya asked softly

"What is what?!" Carina replied

"What's in your head that keeps distracting me from the film?"

"I was wondering why you're so little but you have huge hands"

"They're not huge"

"Well, they're not really proportioned"

"My princess, I didn't hear you complaining in the shower about my huge hands. I'm pretty sure you were enjoying the disproportion"

"Well, I definitely agree with that. I actually love your hands. Especially because they're big"

"You never told me that"

"well, I feel good in your hands. They're strong and experienced hands. But also, I feel protected and loved. You're touch is always so soft and melts my heart"

"Baby, I'm glad that you feel this way about my hands, but what got you so deep in thoughts?"

"I got a call today. My visa is expiring"

"ok, what does that mean?"

"That I need to apply again to re-establish it. But it can be done just two times. Or, I need to apply for the green card"

"You need me to help?"

"No, I don't think so. I'll have to talk to Bailey and then we'll figure it out"

"But still... you're worried about something"

Carina sits facing her girlfriend with concerned eyes

"What if Bailey doesn't need me permanently? What if she can't sign the form because she needs me just temporarly? I'll need to go back to Italy. The only family I had was Andrew. He was the only one that could sign for my green card"

"Why do you think Bailey won't need you?"

"Because I came here as a researcher. She gave me money for research and then something happened and we were short-staffed and she gave me privileges as an OB. We never talked about it and I kept on doing my job"

"An amazing job if I may add. Anyways, stop questioning yourself and your professionalism. If... only if Bailey doesn't sign then we'll figure it out. I could sign for you"

"That means..."

"That means that I'll have to marry you" Maya said a little too coldly

"woah, You say it as you and I were strangers" Carina let go of Maya's hands

"Babe, that's not it. I dream about marrying you almost every night. The thing is, I don't want to have to do this, I want to want it."

"Really?"

"I meant it when I asked you to move in... I want to do everything for real, and this is no exception. If I have to marry you for your green card, I'll do it, because you can't go back to Italy, I can't live without you now"

"You've already given it some thought"

"Ehm... Yeah, I have. Just a little"

"Tell me about your dreams, Bella"

"Well, it's usually a small wedding. We're both dressed in white, but I don't have a dress. Sometimes I have my uniform on, sometimes I have a white tux. You, though, are always perfect. Somehow you're always barefoot in my dreams. My hair is short. Like when I cut it the first time. It's usually one of our friends officiating the wedding. Sometimes Andy, sometimes Teddy... it depends. Our wedding is usually on one of those little beaches by the sea. Our wedding rings are brought at the altar by a beautiful golden retriever, who's basically our first child. Then I kiss you, I look down at our hands and I wake up."

"We should adopt a dog. And, if my dreams reflect the future, he'll have a huge backyard for running, but he'll be too tired because he's going to be your running partner"

"I love it. And he'll be the station dog. I'll buy him a harness with the station logo on it"

"We should definitely do that. Even though a Golden retriever is a big dog. I was thinking about something smaller. A chihuahua maybe. It would suit you" Carina said fooling Maya

"oh, Yeah, of course..." she replied laughing and kissing her girlfriend who she loved very much

Let me know what you think. For what concernes yesterday's episode i have to admit that I didn't like Gabriella's character. I didn't really appreciate the fact that Gabriella invaded their house... making coffee, asking for products to make (i think gnocchi, but who knows) lunch. Gabriella was definitely an intruder... who didn't respect Maya... not for a second, and that wasn't fair.

Of course Marina is strong and I loved the last scene... so authentic
