I felt really bad, that I said that to Justice. I was 'bout to cry myself, if she ain't stop.

We just chilled at my house today, and since mama didn't have to work this week, Justice and her talked about girl stuff. I played a ' Call Of Duty ' while Justice gave me corn rolls. I don't know how though, because I had a mini afro. Well its kind of high or big.

A couple hours later Dee came and stopped by, since mama called him after talking to me this morning about what happened. " Aye wassup Caramel! " He said. " Wassup. " I gave him dap. I didn't give him a nod like usual, since Justice still braiding my hair.

" What's your name pretty lady? " Dee said to Justice. " Aye don't hit on her she mines. " I said and we all started laughing.

" I'm Justice, but people call me Latoya. " She said. " Why Latoya? " He asked. " My middle name. " She said. " Oh nice. " Dee nodded.

" Wanna see your corn rolls? " She asked. I stood up, and went to the bathroom. I burst out laughing when I saw them. They were neat, and medium. I looked weird. I stepped out the bathroom, and Dee was laughing. " I look awkward. " I sat back down. " Your definitely not Trey Songz. " Justice said. " I should be the only person, you checking out. " I said. Justice giggled, and I squeezed her leg, and leaned on her thigh.

Justice leaned her head on top of mine, and of course Dee and mama would be instigators.

" Aww y'all so cute! " Dee and mama said with smiles. I rolled my eyes, and turned off the game.

I grabbed Justice's hand, and we went to the bathroom. I gave the ointment I use, because her scar is botheirng me.

" What's this? " She asked. " Medicine. " I said. She nodded and put it on. Thank You Jesus.

" You got some food i'm hungry. " She said putting the lid back on. " Yea. " I nodded. I bent down motioning for her to get on my back. She jumped on, and we walked into the kitchen. " What you want? " I asked. " Anything. " She said. " So shit? " I asked. She gave me a straight face and I laughed.

I took out some hamburgers, and took out the pan. She jumped off my back, and grabbed more stuff out the refrigerator. She put green beans, corn, and chips on the counter. " What you want on it? " I asked. " Tomato, lettuce melted cheese, onion and pickles. " She smiled. I nodded, and too all of it out, and cut it for her, while she cooked.

" I ain't know you could cut. " She said. " " I ain't know you could cook. " I said in a duh tone. " Aye some boys can't do what you doing. " She said.

It was silent and I had this feeling that she had something to ask, but she didn't wanna ask. " What you wanna ask me? " I asked. She sighed. " Why don't y'all leave? " She asked. " He'll hunt us down and kill us. " I said. " He ain't bout that life. " She crossed her arms after putting the hamburgers on their buns. " Oh he is. " I nodded. "Right. Why don't you call the police? " I asked. " He'll kill us when he gets out. " He shrugged. " But what if y'all move out the state? " I asked. " I guess, but how long do you think he'd be in jail? " I asked.

" Well mainly abusive would be ten to eighteen years. " She said. " Well I guess, we could do that. But when I graduate, mama says she gone leave. Well we will. " I replied.

" Well that's... " She counted on her fingers. " That's nine months. " She frowned. " I delt with it most of my life, so i'm used to bruises and stuff. " I shrugged like it was nothing.

" Look I love that you care, but its cool. " I shrugged. " Being abused isn't cool. " She crossed her arms. " Look don't worry bout it. Aight? " I asked and she nodded taking a deep breath. I bent down and kissed her gently. " Don't tell anybody either. " I said.

" You're putting your life in danger. But okay. " She said making her plate, then cleaned up. When we ate at the table, she was quiet. She would pick with her green beans, then bite her burger. She was bothering me horribly.

" Can you stop worrying. " I said. " Well what you except me to do. Be happy and joyful after what happened not even three hours ago. " She crossed her arms and sat back in her chair. " You were when we in the couch. " I mumbled. " What? " She asked. " Stop Justice. " I said. " No tell me! " She said. I looked past her head, not seeing mama or Dee. " Justice. " I said I felt my blood boil.

" Carmelo I care about you too much for you to be getting beat by a grown ass man. " Justice said quietly. " This one reason why I ain't tell you. " I mumbled. " Oh really. I don't have to care about you Carmelo. I don't have to do any of the shit I do for you. " She said.

" What shit do you do for me? " I said with frowned eyebrows. " I drive you around town, I care for you, I kiss you. " She said. Then she pressed her lips together. " I get in fucking trouble for you. " She put her feet on the chair and put her head between her legs. " I stand up for you. And I stay with you even when your rude, unforgiving and shit. " She said and stomped off.

After I heard my front door close, I knew I fucked up. I felt empty, like I just lost something important.
