After an excruciatingly long trip back and a long walk through the busy streets of Leiden I finally made it back so I could rest.
"Y/n!" Cattlaya exclaimed before suffocating me with a hug. "Did you just get back?"
"Yeah, and I could use some sleep." My bags felt like it weighed a ton and as soon as I took them off I began relax a bit.
"Sorry Hodgins wants to talk to you first." Benedict said cutting in.
"Great I'm gonna get yelled at by the old man." I groaned while passing him.
I forced my feet up the stairs.
"Actually you might be the one yelling..." Iris muttered as I passed her.
What could he have done to make me yell at him?
I knocked on the door before I started to open it.
"Ah Miss L/n..." He said so calmly as I opened the door.
"I heard you wanted to..." I froze when I saw a young woman standing infront of him. "Sorry I'll come back."
"No, no need I wanted you to meet Violet here."
When she turned around I was immediately greeted with a ghost I never thought I'd see again.
"Hello, it's a pleasure to meet you Miss L/n." The girl curtsied as she turned to face me.
"Miss L/n is the daughter of the man who crafted your prosthetics."
"I told you not to call me that old man." I groaned.
I hated when he called me that in such a causal manner. Mostly because he refused to use my rank instead of miss.
"Sorry Y/n." He mumbled. "I do have some bad news for you."
"As long as it doesn't prevent me from getting some rest it cant be that bad."
"Well we weren't expecting you back for another two weeks, so we dont have a room ready for you..."
"What happened my usual room?" I asked while Violet was silently listening.
"There is currently a temporary trainee staying in it." He said like he was nervous of my reaction.
"Ok..." I sighed and turned around. "I might be able to find a room at a hotel or something for the night."
"You can stay in my room if you'd prefer." Violet spoke up.
"I don't think that's a good idea..."
"Y/n it's late you're not going to fine a room anywhere tonight." Hodgins said as he ran a hand through his shaggy hair. "I would offer you the couch in the work room, but it's not safe if someone goes to wake you up. And we need the area clear when people start coming in."
Some how they managed to get me to agree to sleeping in Violet's room. I grabbed a blanket and laid it on the floor.
"Wouldn't you prefer the bed?" She asked softly while looking at my leg.
"Sorry luv, I'm not the best person to sleep with." I muttered before laying on the blanket. "I can get violent if I'm woken up because of nightmares."
She seemed to be silently trying to piece it together.
"I had to do some bad things during the war, and had some even worse things done to me." I softly explained before I closed my eyes. "My leg wont be any issues, I promise. It was built to be kept on unless it needs repairs."
"I remember you were an engineer right?"
"I was." I mumbled.
She began typing away before starting to talk again. "What..."
"Violet I will answer any questions tomorrow. This is the first time I've been back in three months."
I laid there as the flame made her shadow dance against the moon lit wall.
