Sick

I peeled my eyes open. The world was blurry around me. I tried breathing in deeply but it turned into a hacking fit. I didn't even know what I had. Just that it made me incredibly weak and hurt everywhere. I could've texted Reyik about it but I didn't want to cause him trouble. He'd done enough for me already.

My stomach made a sickening lurch. I moaned in pain and decided it was time to eat. Three days without food can't be good for you when you're sick.

I shoved the blankets off and sat up, wobbling much more than originally intended. The world spun around me and I almost fell back.

Regaining my sense of direction, I stood up and used the wall as support for my walk to the kitchen. I checked the fridge. No leftovers. As an overachiever, I couldn't be satisfied with just some simple toast. I grabbed an onion and knife and started dicing. Poured oil into a skillet and browned the onions. I then added a bunch of vegetables and fried some potatoes in another pan. My phone bussed in my pocket and I pulled it out to check on it. It was Reyik.
Hey are you okay?

Please respond

Emi?

I'm coming over

"No!" I said a little too loud. My chest tightened and I dissolved into a coughing fit. The world spun around me and I grabbed the nearest thing. The potatoes. The pan flipped over as I fell, spilling oil all over me. I grit my teeth and screamed through them. It hurt even more. Tears were spilling out now. I crashed to the floor holding my hands to my chest. Inhuman sounds were escaping my lips. Blackness surrounded my vision. My hands burned and my lungs wouldn't breath right. I opened my eyes and looked at my hands. They were melting. Or looked that way. My skin was shiny and oozy. I let out one last round of coughs and my vision blacked out.
