Sani's POV:
I stared at the dead body in front of me, there was blood everywhere. One of my arrows was penetrated through the humans heart.
As I dropped to my knees all kinds of emotions were going through my head, the one that was the worst was fear. I couldn't go back to heaven like this, I'll never be able to go back to my old life.
Tears started to slowly fall down my cheeks, eventually onto the ground.
How could I fuck up so fast? It was only my third mission. You had one job Sani, one job. Find the demon you were told to search for, and kill it.
Instead I killed a human, knowing it was a human very well, and knowing that that is against the rules. There would be no hope for me in becoming an official guardian angel if I broke this rule, and I did, even though I knew.
But was it worth it? There's fallen angels that survived and are alive, right? I could live on earth and hide from the angels.
Those evil humans didn't deserve to live anyway. I know how they slaughtered all the poor creatures here on earth, they can't be forgiven for that.
I mean, why aren't we also attacking the humans anyway? They're not any better than the demons.
I noticed something in the corner of my eye. It was my wings. Black color slowly started taking over my white wings. My eyes widened upon seeing that there wasn't anymore white left. Not on my flying wings, not on the wings behind my ears.
Yellow sparkles started falling down from above of my head and I held both of my hands out to see the sparkles fall on them. On my drenched in blood right hand, and my left hand which had dirt on it.
There goes my halo. And my magic.
I started sobbing even more and the tears started falling faster. Why was this happening? Why me?
A portal appeared to my left.
'No, please no.' I thought, I couldn't die, not now. How did they come already? Please don't kill me, don't execute me, I'm begging you.
An angel stepped out of the portal. "Well hello there Sani." She said, showing almost no emotion. "I'm here to bring you back to heaven, since you failed your mission and broke one of the rules. But it seems like you know that very well yourself." She said, the last thing probably because she saw my traumatized face full with tears.
I couldn't speak, I couldn't move. I just accepted my faith.
"Looks like you know what's going to happen too... well, let's get going then." She grabbed my arm and dragged me to the portal. All I could look at was the dead human that I had just killed.
We went into the portal, entering heaven. 'Thank god there aren't any people here.' I thought, I didn't want to be seen like this.
Wait.. there weren't any other people there. Maybe I did have a chance of escaping.
I just let the angel drag me to what I assumed was the queen of heaven, but when we got close to an alleyway, I took my chance.
I grabbed an arrow from my back and stabbed the angel right through her left wing. When she was still distracted I grabbed another arrow and put it through her right upper leg.
I heard her let out a pained scream, which made me close my eyes out of pity. I didn't want to hurt her, but I had to, I would've died if I didn't.
I started running, but not just aimlessly, I knew where to go. I heard the angel shout at me to go back while I was.
Another reason why I chose to run at that moment, was because I knew that my friend's house was nearby. She was born as a messager, and she was 2 years older too, which meant she already completely controlled her powers.
Messagers can make portals, next to being able to heal and make shields, but they can't make spears or other weapons. This meant, that if I would be able to get to her house, she could create a portal to earth, and my chance of surviving would be way bigger.
About 3 minutes of running through alleyways and trying not to be seen by anyone I got to my friends house. I flew up to the window of her room and knocked on it. The curtains were closed at first but 5 seconds later they opened and I could see my best friend, for the last time.
She opened the window, I opened my mouth to say something but she instantly cut me off. "Why are your wings black?" I could hear the concern in her voice, it hurt.
Rather not wanting to answer the question, I just said what I wanted to say when she openend the window. "Niki I need you to open a portal to earth, and fast, please."
Instead of answering she continued asking her own questions. "Sani, what did you do?"
I sighed. "I failed my third mission, I killed a human... I didn't mean to."
She facepalmed and sighed. "I know how much you hate humans, so I guess I knew that this was going to happen." She mumbled.
It did make sense that she knew it, since I always told her how much I despised the humans.
"Let's just do this quick." She said and lifted her hand, creating a portal right after.
I hugged her. "Thank you." I whispered as a tear slowly fell down my cheek.
"Good luck." She whispered as a reply.
I let go of the hug and stepped through the portal. I turned around and waved as the portal started to slowly close in front of me. She waved back.
But when the portal was almost halfway through of disappearing, another portal appeared behind her, and an assassin angel stepped out of it, with a messager angel right behind him.
The portal almost came to a close and I could see my best friend get stabbed through the arm, her face having nothing but fear shown on it.
I cried out in agony, even though I wasn't the one being stabbed. She didn't deserve this, I wanted to help her, but the portal closed. After that moment, I knew she'd be dead for a long time before I could do anything.
I fell to the ground yet again, feeling pain throughout my whole body. Even though I didn't actually get hurt, at least not physically.
Here I was, somewhere in a random forest. Alone. Her life wasn't worth it.
"What have I done?"
